The north Canadian is bringing lots of water to the big E this week along with all the local rain. Will this year's spawn be a bust?

Ladylakedog the fish will still spawn, if the water stays up the survival rates will be higher for good numbers in 4-5 years. EB

Fished Graves creek on Friday, not much luck. Caught some fish right off the bank but not many, mix of males and females. Best luck was from brush piles in the midddle of the creek in 8-10 ft of water but had to have thick brush all the way to the bottom. I sacrificed plenty of jigs......... Most everyone i talked too had about the same kind of day I had, catching fish but not very many. That was the first time I have been in graves creek and I cant wait to get back in it.

Only able to fish for a couple of hours on Saturday evening at the dock and only kept 5. Fished another couple of hours on Sunday and only added 1 more. Still fishing anywhere from 6-10' in 20FOW on minnows. Hoping all the rain this week doesn't make it worse next weekend (if that's possible).
The good news is the pork butt I smoked on Saturday while the storm shelter was being installed, came out great!

Being able to adapt is the key. I am adapting to another lake since my hole had 41/2" of rain and closed hwy31 down south due to high water. See Big Muddy I Am Gone.....ok guys I am giving you my holes so go get em......Ranger

Eufaula is notorious for being really high sometimes and being really low at others.
In the low water picture below (picture taken from the top of our walkway to the dock), the floatation just past the gate on the walkway has been completely dry at times.

In the high water picture below, the water was up past the top floatation and just about to the power pole. I can't locate the picture, but about 10-11 years ago, the water was so high that it was actually above the electric meters on the pole. The parking area where my golf cart is, was completely underwater.

Might have to take the week off from the crappie and head
below the dam. Those gates are going to be wide open.

As of 11:00 today its only 2.05 high. Thats good for the spawn and the post spawn. There will be lots of fish caught on the rip rap in May and June. I remember guiding a few years ago the lake was up 7ft in May and we were still catching fish on wood piles up the creek with females spewing eggs. EB
