I would say he wasn't fishing a BoneHead Stick Guard or a Timmy Tom Jig. Almost impossible to fish thick brush without it.....Ranger

You are correct ranger I wasn't fishing either one of those but am planning on ordering the bonehead stick guards. We will see how that works

Ranger how do you rig the stick guard? I got some from Bass Pro looks like would be hard for a crappie get to the hook if rigged per instructions.

Not sure if your question is whether it's hot to fish on the dock or whether the fishing is good.
If you are asking about temp, well, it's a covered dock so as long as there is a breeze, it's not too bad. As far as the fishing being good, I'd have to say, not lately. But I didn't change out the cedar trees like I should have this year either. But I'll keep giving reports when we go down there on the weekends and have some time to fish. Lately I've just been spending time on a raft with my floating ice chest of beer.

I believe he was referring to if it was a great crappie fishing dock in the summer.

minnowtime the BP stick guards are to thick and to short. Waste your money buying them. How I use the stick guards (BoneHead) is push the indention on the head over the jigs eye then tie your line on to hold it in place. Insert the point and barb into the end or barrel of the guard. They do wear out and you will have to replace them. I would rather replace a guard than a jig and plastic.......Ranger
