Gee I guess experience is the best teacher. I have seen so many photos of crappie stacked up on PVC it seemed that was a good option provided you sand the PVC limbs before sinking to allow for algae to grow quickly on them. I know as EB said build it and they will come. Some lakes are almost void of decent structure. Makes sense to help restore some of that so we continue to have crappie.

Very good stuff guys. Thanks for sharing. Have given me better insight on how brushpiling works.

Fished piles EB and I placed yesterday and ended the day with 30 good fish with 30 to 40 throwbacks as well. Was jerking all day. You Build Them In The Right Place And They Will Come.......Ranger

I was at camp and caught Mark talking about the cast and drag technique which I fully understand. What I missed was how far away you get from the brush pile and where you throw your marker buoy in conjunction with the pile. I assume you want to be facing the wind if there is one.

Mark u should just put out a YouTube video on the cast and drag technique. That way we all would quit asking questions about it. Heck go ahead and do one over brush piling, spider rigging and any other technique u may use. Let me know when they are posted. Lol

I understand the casting technique I just never heard how close you get to the brush pile. I assume 10-15' away or close enough not to scare the fish???
