Kept 20 today from fishing from the ramp and dock here in Arrowhead Estates. Water temp was 67, clarity is slightly murky, and I caught these fish on two tone green tube jig and 1/8th oz jig heads. Males are really getting black and they are aggressive. Females are hitting hard too, but I don't know if they are spawning because I haven't cleaned any of the females from today's catch. Will hitter again in the morning and clean fish tomorrow evening. Only bad thing today was the wind and it kept blowing up my skirt and exposing my pretty red panties.

Waded today with a buddy on the north end from about 1100 to 4 pm....cleaned 42 most came out of the same cove.....water was muddy.....fish were anywhere from 6 in to 3 ft....the spawn is on....most were males...some females came from deeper water and the eggs are ready.......here's a question for ya, will males eat eggs? Four of the males I cleaned looked like they had eaten eggs

I'm not sure? Maybe that accidentally suck some in while they are spawning? I know I get carried away sometimes when I spawn.

Went into longtown creek on Saturday. There was a lot of competition! We ended the day with 17 so it was well worth it. I still got the feeling they weren't going crazy in there yet. That's the first time we've ever fished Eufaula for the spawn though so don't have any frame of reference for it. Eggs were pretty small and not ready yet. Caught them on jigs. Didn't seem to matter the color as long as it had chartreuse in it.

A buddy of mine rode down from Owasso Friday night and we fished from the dock Saturday afternoon starting around noon. Very sporadic -- we'd catch a couple pretty quick then nothing for an hour. We fished for about 5 hours and only cleaned 14 (several still had eggs). We tried again Saturday night but it was very pathetic - 1 tiny dink and 1 little catfish. Still fishing with just minnows and a few of those suckers were big enough that I thought about trying to filet a couple of them.

About half of the females I cleaned this evening had spawned, no eggs. The other females' eggs were gooey and had dropped into place to eject over a nest.

Man thats rough for this time of year. Got a suggestion if you want to hear it. Keep moving till you find them. It seems this year that it has been on and off like a light switch. One place will be hot and other places dead as a doornail. If I was bank bound, I would start at INT 40 and then work my way down 69 til I found action. Use a long dipping rod or a bobber. Fish a jig about 10 inches down and fish in 12 to 24 inch deep water around cover. Try 5-10 different spots along a given shoreline if no bites, drive to next spot.Name: help4.jpg
