Thank you Brian; Just to add to that the main lake areas sometimes will be last to spawn. I will also be wading but without waders,....I like to fell the temp and bottom contours.

AMERICANS: Willing to cross a frozen river to kill you, in your sleep, on Christmas, totally not kidding, we've done it.
Added 3 more nice crappie to the basket this morning, fished about half an hour. I'll catch a few more today, then clean them. Should have close to 20 when I clean later this evening. Bite wasn't as aggressive as yesterday, I suspect the cooler temps slowed them down a bit. Water is murky, temp is 62 and the wind wasn't bad. None were shallow this morning, all around 6 feet deep and hit green colored jigs with pink heads.

Got to the Lake and set up, then on the water about 10am. Caught 6 keepers in an hour and then my wife got to the trailer so I quit. They were all prespawn females. Guys on shore were catching dink males making nests. Double dipping jigs In 8-10' water in Arrowhead area.

Well me and some buddies camped and fished a cove on the north end not far from the I40 bridge. We fished from 9:00 am Saturday untill 10:00 am Sunday. It was PERFECT fishing weather and that cove was PACKED with people fishing. The bank was just lined all the way with bobbers! It was quite a sight. The fishing wasnt real fast paced but steady. Everyone was catching fish shallow and close to the bank. My group was fishing 1-4 feet deep within 7 feet from the bank. I ended up cleaning 16 all females, my father in law cleaned 13 all females. Most were caught with minnows, but a few and the biggest were caught on black/pink slabslayers. Big fish of the trip was 2 lbs 2 oz.
2 lbs 2 oz is a hog! Wish they ran that big around my area.
