Smokie Okie, I am on the lake every afternoon and I have only caught a few keepers.

Of course I have to fish off my dock not in a boat. I waited until the full moon. Waited until the water temp was right. Next thing is to consult my "magic 8 ball", I guess. When are they coming into my area just north of Arrowhead? All I catch are small crappie, bass, or catfish.

When they do get to my area, how do I use a jig? Under a cork? Just drop straight down into the water without a cork? What size rod is best?

Peke, next time you're free to fish in the afternoon, give me a call and I'll run over and show you what little I know. Wednesday around 7pm is an excellent time according to the solar/lunar chart I use frequently. It called for the fish to bite well this morning around sun-up, and I caught the fire out of them until around 8am........ the time it stated the drop off in bites would occur.

I'll bring a shopping list of "must have" things to fix your dock up for improved fishing. We're gonna get you and your husband catching crappie and do it really soon so you can have plenty of crappie filets in your freezer before winter arrives.

Ranger, I will be sure and do that next time I see you. Always eager to hear about new locations or ideas. As the crow flys my house isnt but about a mile and a half from where I saw you. Now that I have this new boat, new to me anyways, I can get to more of the lake faster and a lot dryer. lol

Muddied the water up with 2-1/2 inches of rain....... but I caught a dozen or so between 6:30pm and dark Wednesday evening.
