Went Thur. and Fri. thinking those slabs should be jumping out of the lake onto the banks, but was very disappointed. Fished Thurs from about noon until 5 in the Crowder and Rock Creek area and only had 3 keepers and around 20 or so < 10" fish. You could almost catch those little pest at will.

Fri. put in at Buds Point around noon and due to engine trouble, staid in the Blocker area. Fishing started off slow with us catching most of our keepers on Elec Chicken slab slayers. When the sun finally came out, they picked up a bit and we started getting them on Blk/Pnk 2" beavertails. It never got really good and we ground it out until around 6:30 with 26 keepers over 10" for the day and probably 3 times that of <10" dinks. All the fish came off of brush in 8 to 12 fow or break lines and points near spawning areas. Tried the ole jig and cork in the brush several different times and they just weren't home yet.

Went out thursday and friday. Thursay went way down south and ended up with 23 keepers. Most of these were caught doodlesocking buckbrush...they were keying on the roots of thd thicker bushes and most of the males were black. All caught on black/pink black/chart beavers. Friday we decided to go to longtown area. First we tried going way up the creek, i had no idea it went back that far...only ended up catching 1crappie and some bass. We tried some other areas in longtown without much luck.

No crappie yet by my dock or near the brush. We are right by the northernmost part of Arrowhead Estates.

We went down south on Thursday and fished. We got on the water about 0930 and fished until 1500. We kept 32 nice crappie, several 12-14 inchers. Caught all of them in 5-8 fow and best colors were blk/pink and electric chicken. All females but 2. Eggs didn't look very close to spawning on most of them. I think it is just getting ready to get good.

I was there around 1:30 and looked around but didn't see anybody catching fish. Where were you fishing there?

Fished off and on today on my dock. Finally caught 6 keepers between 7:00 -8:00 p.m. I used jigs and minnows 7-10' DOW, and I only got bites on the minnows. I took a picture of my first crappie caught on our dock. I didn't measure it, but my foot is 11 inches long and the fish was longer than my foot.

Now can somone tell me if it is a female or male? It didn't have any black on it.

It appears to eb female, but it is hard to tell from the pic. Did it get darker after you caught it?

Why Peke, don't you know you have to look under their tail to see if they're male or female? Rofl

Congrats on the first fish off the dock. Hoping you have many, many more!
