Fished the far south end today and the water temps were 69 degrees when I unloaded at 12 noon..after the sun came out it got up to 73 before I left at 6pm...long poling in 6' to 8' of water using Slab Bandits, Beavertails, Wasshoppers, and Shassy Shads. It didnt really matter. Cleaned 68 crappie today and got a late start. Caught 1 crappie on cork and jig in really shallow water so its gonna be gettin right real quick. The water has got alil more stained from last nights rain but fishable......Ranger

Ranger, they're starting to come in to the banks. Had some friends catch several short bobbing close to the bank using jigs this afternoon. I fished on the dock and only caught dinks. Almost ran home to get my other fishing pole so I could get in on some of it before it got dark. But I figured they'd only be getting better in the next few days and then explode with activity next week. Spawn is on it's way.

Fished the south end today and ended up with 15 keepers. Caught about 5 doodlesocking shallow buck brush and the rest came off of brush in 7 fow. If we could have found more brush at that depth then we probably would have caught more because they were stacked up on the couple piles we found. We caught them all on 2" beaver tails and road runners. We didn't catch a fish until the afternoon when the sun came out. Shouldn't be too long now for them to really hit the banks.

Thanks, EB. I think I know what brush you are talking about.

We fished the Crowder area today from about 8:00 til noon. Still no fish on the bank. Caught everything off rip rap and 6-8 ft of water. Only had 10 keepers out of 25-30 fish. I wish they would hurry up!

fished there from about 10:30 til 3:00 and had the same experience except we caught a lot of fish about 10' deep, and on the spiders about 5'.

Ran over to Blocker and looked around. According to everyone fishing there it was really sorry.

Fished the south end today and ended up with a limit of 37..started off really slow since the water had cooled off since Wednesday by 5 degrees. was 67.8 when I started and got up to 72.3 mid afternoon. Had 12 fish at noon and most were really good ones about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2lb'ers. Caught em in 8' to 12' DOW. When the sun came out and over the timber its got alil better and they moved up closer to the bank in 6' to 8' DOW. After 3pm saw a crappie chasing a shad in really shallow water and I decided to throw a cork and jig. Glad she showed me she was close. Needed 12 fish to make a limit and caught those 12 in like 20 casts. Left em sittin on the bank in 18" of water and hittin anything you threw at em. Long poled early with beavertails and Pumkin/chart was the color they wanted today and they were picky to say the least. Tried blk/pink and blk/chart and maybe I caught 1 or 2 on each color but pumkin/chart out done en 10/1. Got to give em what they want......Ranger
