Was able to get out again this afternoon on the north end. Spider rigged minnows on brush in 10 to 13 fow. Could only fish a couple of piles, due to the wind. Ended up with 9 keepers. All were nice fish with 2 over 14". Also caught several dinks today.

They're sure not biting for me around docks or the bank. Fished for 2 hours yesterday morning and had only one hit, fish on, never got it to the surface, guess I didn't set the hook well or it didn't take it in the first place. I need to drag the old boat out and start fishing the brush piles I guess, it appears that is the best place right now. Thanks for the report Brian.

Stink, I was spidder-rigging minnows over log jams and stump rows! In fact one of the 1.50lb fish I caught got my bait unhung for me. That how tight they were to the wood. The key is to fish the top of the brush, stump, log, laydown etc. We caught some on jigs as well. In the last week I have fish have been caught on brush on the north end and the south end. In depths 12-16ft. Right on top of the brush! I know your a bank fisherman and I know you know how to slip cork. Fish 10-12ft with those minnow rigs and cork and jig one in your hand while your watching your minnows! I know there some fish to be caught around Crowder. But I think those pile have to be in at least 12fow and deeper. Unless your in a shallow creek! EB

Thanks for the advice Brian, appreciate it and will certainly try some of that if I get all froggy and decide to launch the boat. I've been restricting myself to fishing off my friend's dock here, or going to the culvert at Crowder or off the bank close to Blocker bridge. Usually at the dock here in Arrowhead Estates simply because it's so convenient and user friendly. I finally caught a few this evening right before dark, not much, one small crappie, one small perch, and to top it off, one small bass, all in a matter of 20-30 minutes. Not much, but here lately I've been fishing 2 hours at a time without a bite, so this is a much improved change. Using minnows this evening and will try again in the morning at daybreak.

Thanks again for the advice and fishing tips, if you're down this way, hollar at me and I'll buy you a cup.

Didn't get a single bite this morning and I didn't stay the usual two hours, I left after only one hour, came home, made some breakfast, and warmed up........it was fairly chilly with the rain coming down and a brisk wind coming out of the north. Had one fish push my cork around a little bit thinking he could convince me to stay a bit longer. Heck, that was better than nothing. Nice thing about my buddy's dock, it's covered and has a wall on the north and west sides to keep the wind off.
