DB nice report, will have to call EB to verify that you caught fish! LOL
I saw 3 lake Patrol OHP guys put in at Eufaula Cove about 3:30, I think I would call them and have them check it out.
It's handled by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol so I guess you would call them, If not I would check with the lake ranger for the State. You can find him on Wildlifedepartment.com, not sure where but I've see it :-)
I'm due West of you, on the point North of the Marina.
Eufaula is always a really dirty lake - especially anything south of 9A bridge. We were on our dock on Saturday (had to use the pedal boat to get out to the dock) and the water was the normal dirty color. But WOW, we stopped by on Sunday to see how much more the lake had come up and I couldn't believe how red the water was now. It was that way out in the triangle when we drove up 69 but by the time we got on the other side of town of Eufaula, it didn't look nearly as red. The Corps raised the gates at the dam again on Saturday but to only 3' which means inflow is still higher than release so the water level is still coming up (although not as fast). I'm worried July 4th will be as bad as it was for Memorial Day weekend as far as campgrounds and boat ramps being closed.
Is arrowhead ramp still open?
The Arrowhead ramp should be usable. Its a wide, straight ramp. The ramp at Arrowhead Estates is only usable if you have a jacked up truck to back out far enough on the parking lot to launch or load.
The only good news is the inlfow is finally lower than the release so the lake is finally starting to drop VERY slowly. We still got within about 2' of the high level earlier this month.
Does anyone know if the gate to fish the dam is open or closed? I don't want to drive 2 hours for nothing.
Thanks
I have some friends been fishing down there catching crappie and sandbass. So I think it's open. EB
Yes gates open and able to fish below dam. . . Good size sandbass crappie all dinks.
I have also seen a few flat heads ranging in the ten to twenty range. Blue cats have been nice cleaning size.
Thanks! Went to Keystone because I wasn't sure. Nothing. Nobody caught anything below the dam there. I'll probably try Eufaula in the coming days.
