Is anyone catching anything at molly brown
Thanks for the info.i hope to get down there this week.
let us know how you did... post it here http://www.crappie.com/crappie/oklah...-docks-14.html if you would.
I've been catching them in the afternoon also, usually from 4pm on til dark. Sunday evening I caught 8 nice keepers between 5pm and 6pm, and they were a little deeper than usual. I started out fishing around 8 feet deep with no success, then doubled that to 16 and started coming up. They started hitting at 12-14 feet and usually hit the minnow while raising the crappie rig. More aggressive than they have been and I like that. Water temp was 52 degrees and the lake level is holding steady at 585 (regular level).
Love the new Sig Stink. Once again, we're never too old to learn...
Good thing I'm not married, huh! My wife would have killed me for stinking up her new oven. sigh............
We are never to old to get "MARRIED" either....sigh.... I already am......lol.......Ranger
We fished Saturday and kept 20 nice fish, the fish were scattered. We spider-rigged some new yum baits, 10ft in 12-20fow. Lime/Cart and pum/chart were two good colors. We fished Sunday and the wind got us pretty good, we tried to hise from it but we couldnt get on a steady bite, caught some fish suspended over deep water and then shallow as well. The water temps for both days was 50-54 degrees, and the clarity was muddy- 4 inch vis. EB
Its the time of year Stink..they are just waiting for the right temps and that time is getting closer everyday that passes.....today the water temp was 49.4 on the north end..need another 10 or 12 degrees...Ranger
Yes all the fish I have cleaned since November have had eggs! Remember its about Moonphases that push them to the shallows! We will have three big waves! March April and May! I'll bet back in the shallow creeks there is some 60 degree or warmer water today! When we see 50 degree nights the fish begin to get really active! We will catch them somewhere with a cork and jig this weekend ;)
Eb how do you think the moon phase relates to the spawn? Just trying to learn something new.
Stink,
Are you close to the dock at Lake Eufaula state park? My wife and I will be comin down there next week and do some fishin, was wonderin how the fishin at the dock is goin?
AC
AC, I'm right across from Arrowhead State Park in Arrowhead Estates and usually fish from a friend's dock. The fishing has picked up over the last two weeks and as the temperature continues to rise, so will the bite. I'm sorry that I haven't any fishing reports for any other areas here on the lake, but I am observing increased fishing activity in the Crowder area, especially on their dock and at the culverts along highway 69 at Crowder. Good luck to you and your wife, hope you fill your basket everyday.
AC... the bite has been a little slow at the fishing dock until about 2pm till about 6 or so.
Hey Redge, no one really knows for sure why the schools make a huge push to the shallows the three days of the the full moon or the new moon phases. Temps play a huge role when the water temps reach 50-58. The fish start staging, eatin everything in sight. This is because the shad go to the shallows along with perch, darters, and other juvenile fish. The spawn peaks on the last moon phase when temps are round 75 degrees. But also keep in mind how many crappie are in a lake, especially lake Eufaula, and how many areas fish differently! I have caught them spawning from the first week in March all the way to the second week in June. There are always huge fish caught on the moon phases though! Remeber they go to the bank in steps, a little shallower at a time! EB
Thanks EB, I always like to learn!
Man I got my tongue hangin out waiting for that move in of the slabs..... I soooooooo got to hit it this weekend!
Decided to get out yesterday and try my hand on Graves Creek. I sold my boat last fall to my buddy, and he lives about 5 miles from there. I decided to take him up on his offer to come by and get it any time I wanted to go fishing.
I hit the water about 12:30 and headed down to the mouth. Why some of these people think they can anchor up blocking the creek is beyond me. nonono Then they give you the "look" when you start going around them!
Anyway, water temp was 55 and I started on a couple holes I've always done good in. By 2 p.m. I had caught 5 with 4 good keepers. I started working my way back up the creek since the water was getting warmer but I only caught small ones after that. The ticket seemed to be the deeper holes near the mouth in 10 to 14ft of water with brush on the bottom. If the holes were clean, you could forget about getting bit. The lucky color of the day was the new black and chrt Yum beavertails.
Wrapped it up around 5 and headed in. Talked to some who'd been there all day and they hadn't faired any better, so I didn't feel too bad (if they were telling the truth...lol)
Gonna try and make it out Sunday. Probably head down to Crowder or Gaines though.
Well, I ventured out today knowing the wind was going to pick up later in the day. Started late about 11:30 or so, and surprisingly enough had 8 nice keepers (from 10" - 15") in about an hour fishing in 20 FOW about 10-12 feet deep. That was while the wind was out of the west mainly, and I was on the west bank just south of the I-40 bridge....THEN it turned and started blowing out of the north. HARD! No more fishing there. I ran around for a while hitting a few spots I thought was out of the wind but no luck. Finally late in the day I stopped and fished on the south side of I-40 along the rip rap. 1 keeper about 11" long, and missed another but it was very slow after the wind changed directions. I hope this helps if you are planning a trip. God Bless.
Well went out yesterday got there about 11:45. From noon to 2 it was amazing on how big and how many we cought in that time frame.Ended up cleaning 59 over 10".
Boat houses in 25+ FOW.Bobby Garland Slab Slayer in Chart and black.

I really hope we have the Crappie.com meeting this year. If I can help in any way let me know.
Caught 9 keepers again today. Everything was about the same as it was a couple of days ago. God bless.
Fished the south end yesterday. Spider rigged minnows and slow trolled jigs rod in hand. Finished with a flurry late to end up with 28. It was very slow throughout most of the day and, of course, the wind limited where we could actually hold the boat and fish. Majority of the fish came on the minnows, but 2 of the larger fish were on blk/pink beavertails.
Reports were that the bite had been good from about 0800-1100. Of course, we got on the water about 1100 .....
Hiya Everyone.
New guy here to the forum. Looks like a pretty good group of guys from what I have read so far.
I went out Saturday night in Crowder. Got out there about 5:30 tried some cork fishing with lights on the water from the bank. Tried depths from 2' to 8' and had almost zero luck (I count 2 fish as zero luck) finally packed it up around midnight. I wasn't sure if the moon or the water temps or something else might have effected it.
Hit Graves again yesterday with some friends. Got there about 8 and fishing started off slow. Had 4 nice ones and some throw backs by 9:30 when the wind started. The 10-15 forecasted winds only happened during the lulls...LOL Anyway, fished all day and then about 3 they turned on. Of course they did because we had to leave by 4!
Ended the the day with 11 nice keepers and a dozen or more throw backs.
There seemed to be current in the creek. Guess they were running water at the dam yesterday. Anyhow, the trick was to find someplace with still water, that was 10 feet or more and had brush. We used minnows today as we didn't want to have to try and troll in and around all the boat traffic.
how come there's not been any reports on her lately? thinking about coming down monday. how deep and where at? HELLLLLLLLLLP
Saw you fishing if you were on the East side of the culvert under #69, started to come by and visit, but that bank gets steeper and more dangerous for me every year. Sorry you didn't do better, but that will change soon.
Welcome to the forum and if you're truly a loony toon character like most of us, you will fit in perfectly. Good luck!
I did't get to go this weekend but my Uncle told me he and my other uncle limitd out Saturday.
I was at Lake Eufaula State Park yesterday and did not do good at all.......maybe next time! But the Bed and Breakfast "The Falls Inn" is a Great place to stay and great price!!!! I will be goin back for sure!!!
