Took a half day guide trip with EB, learned a new technique! Weather was Windy, however EB had some places to hide out of the wind. The jig and cork method reminds me of when I was a kid!! Class act all the way! Had a ton of fun and great company! I highly recommend taking a guide trip, if you get a chance. It's always good to pick someone's brain, that is better than I am at this crappie fishing game. EB even got my wife to use a spin cast reel, I have been trying to get her to use one for years! Thanks EB!

Fished today with Kim and Ron Hightower from Kansas City. Techniques today was Cork and Jig in 1' DOW and later Double Dippin. We ended up with 37 keepers. It was Kim and Rons first time using a spinning reel and after a few hung buck bushes they became a pro using those type reels. We had a blast and it was Kim's first time to catch a fish on anything plastic. First thing out of her mouth was wheres the minnows..lol..shrugged my shoulders and said that's the first I had heard about any minnows we might need. She became a true crappie fisherman after a few casts and said she is thru spending dollars on minnows now..They also said Kansas has smaller crappie than Eufaula..lol..anywho there was many laughs and giggles today..WT got up to 64 degrees before we left and water clarity was about 6". All the females I cleaned were still full of eggs and the males were black as the ace of spades....Ranger

Mark what end of the lake did the females still have eggs? I had heard that they were mostly spawned out far south.

Fishers think about how big this lake is and how many crappie are in it, every year I have caught spawning males up to the first week of June. May is a good month coming up because we are catching two phases of fish Spawn and Post Spawn. EB

Hey lovnfshn, I have owned a Tracker Targa 18 for 5 years. It has a 115HP Merc. . There are 2 main advantages. First, as a deep V design it handles rough water well and keeps the passengers relatively dry. Secondly, it is lighter than fiberglass boats and requires less horsepower to reach the same speeds. It is also comfortable and very roomy. Are fiberglass boats roomy, comfortable, and smooth riding? Yes, but you pay for moving a heavier boat with a larger HP motor. Also, I think you give up some rough water capability with a flat top bass boat design versus a deep V. My opinion, Panfish Paladin.

Fished Eufaula today mid-lake and kept 22 crappie. Got on the water late since my clients had a flat tire on their way down from Tulsa. We fished til 2pm, again they had to be back for a school activity. Fish today were caught on cork n jig and double dippin wasshoppa's in 5' to 7' DOW on natural rock banks. Wt got up to 65 before I left and was windy. Quality of fish was not as good as yesterday, but just good solid keepers. Would show you some pictures but again my phone went swimming...lol....Ranger

Fished south end for a few hrs today. Only had 10 keepers and a few short fish. Fish that we did manage were caught double dipping in 5 fow. Most were females with eggs, although some eggs are really pale looking? I cannot buy a bite on a jig and cork rig for anything, starting to the think guys like ranger are crazy!! Maybe that's the real reason for his boat saying crazy angler on it. Lol.
