Yall are welcome on my boat any time I dont have anyone going. I go by myself alot. Just give me a pm
Nip:
At least it's not 3 hours.
Now look what you've gone and done Josh- hot the geezers all stirred up. Shhhh!
Dstreet, if it is Waresha creek you are talking about, google earth shows good trails leading to a few spots up in there. if you will be in a boat, it may be worth heading over to Cowskin bay and launching and then heading over there. Very short drive. We always launch at Cowskin and then do a lot of rod and reel up in that creek and have even set jugs up in there. One arm in there has a lot of good standing timber. If you like shad, where you launch at cowskin usually always has good schools of shad in it

Went to the Dead Sea today. Pretty slow day comparatively speaking. Brought home 45 giants. 25 were over a pound if I were guessing. 1 over 2. Most were caught in 41 foot of water 25-30 foot down. Half caught on minnows half caught on 2.25 slab slayers in beetlejuice color
Josh I've fished Keystone a total of 4 days and 2 out of those 4 days we caught them really good. I'm more partial to the Arkansas River arm than the Cimmeron. Those are nice fish. EB
I know the Merle pattern will catch catfish! Nobody else caught them like you and I using your pattern!
I know where to tell you to go on Keystone Merle.I fished it as well as Oolagah for 29 yrs. when I lived in Owasso. Always been big crappie in Keystone and you know when you fry them up you don't even have to put salt on them!

Another good day on the dead Sea. Some people will be biting their toungue. BF was 16 1/8 inches long and I'm guessing in the 2.5-2.7 range. No sclaes to weigh it so I used my best judgement. Fish is swimming free to turn into a 3 pounder. Also have a 15 inch crappie that is very close to 2 pounds if its not. Got a limit in 38 ft of water on brush and left before I wanted to due to the wind. The ranger 521 was getting some huge air today!
Nice basket of fish there Josh!
Josh
Are you fishing standing old timber in that 40ft depth or does someone actually have brush piles sunk in that depth?
thanks

Where do I start. Let's start by blowing my motor at daylight on my 250xs while I was taking 3 guys out. Didn't get to fishing until 10 am. Other than the fact we lost a 2.5+ pound monster at the top of the water everything went ok considering the circumstances. Bringing home 20 with bf being close to 2. Bad day but made some friends
Ouch! But those are some nice fish.
Nice fish! Hope the motor is okay!
Hate the blown motor for you Josh- bad time of year and career to be boat less. I was about to start a "Go Fund Me" account to finance a haircut for you but now thinking maybe we put that towards a new Merc. When you are elbow to elbow on the Dead Sea soon just remember I told you so. Now shhhh! There are nothing but dinks on that lake and the Merle Pattern" sets in for everyone who fishes there. Well, for me and Merle anyway.

Too many fish fish for the Merle pattern!! Lol!
Lol, thats just a sample, caught 18. Biggest just over a pound, but many were right at that pound mark. Tough day in that wind. Forecast was 11MPH, reality was 28 MPH according to NWS Tulsa.
Bad week for mercury's Josh. Blew my lower unit on my 4 - stroke. Waiting on parts.
Blew my 200 HP Merc last fall and still waiting to get it back. Did see a new Complete 250 Merc on Tulsa craigs list that was from a Marina out of Missour For 15,000. Sorry to hear about the motor I found out what that cost:yikes
Ouch man. Didn't think it'd be that bad.
New 250 xs 15,999
Fish combo. . . Long John silvers 6.98
Hmmmm. . Maybe time to find a new hobby lol

My experience with motors is fairly limited, having grown up (50's and 60's) with a 14' aluminum boat and a pair of oars. I sometimes mounted a 2.5 HP 1940's Clinton motor in case of sudden storms, but I preferred to row to my spots and use the oars when trolling for trout in Montana or setting jugs in Oklahoma (flash the muscles and get some great exercise). We finally got a new 4-stroke Honda (which a number of my friends said was the best motor on the market), so we could chase jugs all over the lake without fear of getting blown off the water. Unfortunately, the motor never worked properly. The first time we used it, it would kill every time I used less than half throttle. Took it back to 10th street here in OKC, and was told they would not replace it, but would fix it. Took it in four times. The last time, the technician told me it would never work, since it was not a new motor. He told me it had been sitting in the back (lying on the wrong side) for 8 months, before I bought it. Called Honda national in Florida and was told that they would not replace the motor, but I could take it to 10th street and they would fix it. I told the lady what the tech had told me and told her they had worked on it four times. She wouldn't budge. So if any of you want a bum 5 HP Honda that will work at nearly full throttle for a short time before conking out, I know where you can find one.:twocents
Sorry about the unfortunate event Josh with your motor. I went thru it last year with a 2011 yamaha vmax sho and it took over 8 months to get it back. Runs great now. I took to Nichols Marine in tulsa because they could work on the Sho motors and had good feedback. Hopefully you can pull some strings and get yours back sooner then 7-8 months. Good luck.
Hey Josh I'm planning on going to Keystone Saturday if you think you can help me with my locator. From the looks of your posts they must be biting a little anyway.
