While my buddy at Eufaula is limiting out in relatively shallow water I am struggling for a handful of fish in 65' of water.

I actually caught 19 that's just the two big ones. 19 is poor for 7 hours of fishing. It was a good test for the 9' bait caster I made. A friend of mine really likes and wants the rod and I wanted to catch a few with it before I gave it to him. He has diabetes and can't feel his hands with that rod he can see his bites better because it's action is so soft. I'll make another that weighs a little less for me. Not that it was heavy but I struggle with some arthritis issues and it made my shoulder sore by the end of the day. I still have some 7' GLoomis blanks left from the old days and could add a couple feet of ultra light to one to make a 9' that weighs less.

The fish in Texoma are very healthy this year. Since so many stripper went over the low water dam a couple years ago every other species has come on strong. Specially the bait. It has been good for everything but stripper guides.

Progress on the spoons. It takes a while to clean the paint off of the wire ends but I am getting there. I also bag finished spoons in mini zip lock bags to protect the finish.

Fishing is much slower today and most bites on a tube jig. My best fish so far.
