For a 2 piece rod wear damage not attributed to obuse occurs at the female end of the feral that joins the 2 pieces together. Typically the female end will crack or split preventing the 2 pieces from joining with enough structural integrity. As a means of preventing this tendency I place a 1" section of thread that matches the guide thread, both under wrap and attaching wrap over the female end of the feral. The thread and epoxy greatly strengthen the potentially weak joining of the 2 sections.

Progress on the spoons. As can be seen in the pic I am currently cleaning the paint from the exposed ends of the lure wire form so that terminal tackle may be attached. It is exceedingly tedious so I only do a few at a time. Usually while I am watching a movie.

Looking good. The only end I worry about is the one I tie to. I knock off what I can then put the flame to that end so the powder coat melts and gets smooth again; don't over cook it or it changes color...

You can heat the end of a straitened paper clip and it will clear the powder painted end without resistance.

I cant use powder paint sand get the same results.

It's been so long since I've been fishing I probably forgot what end of the hook is for the fish. wrangler makes sure and gives me plenty of updates. He either truly feels my pain and is trying to help ease it with how many fish he catches without me or and I suspect the more sinister reason is that he just likes to rub it in a little and that's ok too I guess.

I caught the fish yesterday and ate them last night. Doesn't get any fresher than that. I meant I took a break from hunting prep on the earlier text.
