Josh, I fished quite a while without a bump. Almost went home after an hour and a half. Tried hair jigs, marabou, ice spoons, beavertails, G-Daddy, BGs, all kinds of colors that usually work. Kept four rods busy, tying on various bait combos. Tried from bottom to top, using every technique I know. Finally, used an iceout BG on a 1/16th yellow head, below a 1/64th blue/white hair jig. As soon as I went to 16 feet and just SLOWLY moved the jigs sideways, with a very small occasional twitch, a 14 "er hit the BG, followed immediately by two smaller fish. After that, it was just one here, one there, all on the same technique.
Maybe 15 other people fished during the 5 hours or so that I was there. The only other crappie caught was the one the kid got at the surface on a minnow. Several people went to worms and caught a few bluegills.
