    Default Lake Carl Blackwell Fishing!!!

I know it is not crappie, but has been a while since I have posted so I figured I would toss something on here. For the last couple weeks I have been tearing up the hybrids and sand bass on Blackwell. Most days I am using two 1/8ounce yellow crappie pro jig heads and Silver Glitter/Pearl Mikes Custom Crappie Baits. Fish were holding for days in the 10.5-14' water and then wind picked up good one day so they were up in a cove in 2-7foot so I used a Silver/Blue Arkie Lure Crankbait to mimic the shad. Sat they had moved out a little deeper and the bigger fish were in 16-18' of water. Been having to cast out and drag back along the bottom with an occasional jerk of the baits. When they hit, they hit hard. Water temp was dropping down around 66, but with the weekend temps we just had, I am sure it pushed it back up a couple degrees. Here are a few pics from some recent trips out with friends. Attachment 177452Attachment 177453Attachment 177454Name: Hybrid 4.jpg

I just put the nose of the boat facing into the wind and it inst that bad. I am fishing from a fiberglass boat too, sure helps a lot compared to fishing from aluminum boat. they blow everywhere with a light wind.

Very nice whities there. Seems like they grow nice ones here in OK. I have not caught nearly as many at Canton, but the size is very similar. Might be worth the $5.00 to head down to Carl Blackwell again.

Scott....Blackwell is becoming a real good lake for fishing. a lot of quality fish in there from cats to crappie. The shad population has exploded in the lake and fish are really starting to grow. The fish house will be picking up soon if your bank fisherman, if your a boater, the main lake always has several spots to catch nice fish.
