The gate is always open and the fee to launch is 8.00. Word of caution. It appears to me, and SC may be better able to weigh in here but there is no way to get out of the wind and by the looks of it, it can get rough in a hurry! Josh?

Can you fill us in on what it takes to put a boat on the water there outside of showing up at the ramp. I see on their website there is an $8 fee for fishing/ramp usage. Is that accurate? What time does the main gate open? Is that where you get the permits? Sounds like it might worth the long drive since the other lakes are currently are not producing numbers of keepers.

There are no crappie left at the Fresh fish market in Stillwater due to Pappa buying them out over the weekend.
Great job buddy

I just do not like fishing in high wind, but who does? My Z9 eats rough water for breakfast, however any boat can get bobbed good when you are trying to fish in high wind over structure. The wind seems to always blow. That is life. If the lake is shallow like Oologah and Kerr it can get freaky in a hurry. On the other hand I prefer the water versus smelling what the guy standing next to me had for breakfast. A Scouting trip seems in order. Thanks for the info.
Hate the wind myself.
Had a blast this last summer on the hybrids, they were just busting the shad all over the surface in the coves. Also caught a big flathead that day on a jig. Caught a mess of crappie too. I did not see a lot of fishermen in boats, but the OSU recreation crowd is something else on the weekends.
That mess looks bigger than what you two got on Friday. Super nice. Glad we were in Tulsa fishing with the grandkids. If we had gone to CB, we might have witnessed blood in the water. Most of the people have been really good about respecting each other's spots. Too bad you had to get a bad one.
ps. Bobo, We watched Pappa and pardner slaying them, enough to maybe stock the fish market.
