On my end they were hitting on a red and silver Snake River baby shad, and a Chart Texas Bug. I was using 1/16 minnow heads. One yellow and one black. They really seemed to like the red and silver this morning.

This was taken last Saturday morning. As you can see CrappiePappa (on the right) and SwollenCrappie (on the left) were freezing to death as I was "Testing" the heater out in Pappa's truck.
BTW this is the dock at Carl Blackwell.

Thanks for the info Bobo and Pappa. I'll let you all know how we do.

I also took this picture today while we were out there. I decided to check out the trout pond and see if it was frozen over after the bite died off. It was frozen so no trout for me today but I did get this great shot of a mamma doe and her yearling walking by the trout pond up on Carl Blackwell

Sounds like you boys had a blast. Glad most of you picked up a few. Visiting with each other would of been worth the hassle of the crowd. After hearing about the huge crowd there is one thing for sure, I will not show up to hit elbows with another. Lol. Guess I will settle talking to myself and riding the waves......Ranger

Yeah I sure was wanting to hit this dock too but after finding out how crowded it was I decided to pass. The crowd is what drives me away from T-Birds dock when it rolls in.
Talked to a buddy at 5:50 this morning and he said there was already 14 people out there but he was catching some fish. The inside of the fish house can comfortably fish 12 people without getting tangled and frustrated. Get more then that and it begins to be a mess. I will be very vocal and express myself if people try and crowd me out, in fact, In washington state, when I would salmon fish and people would get to close to me and get me tangled up, i would reach over and cut their line, but it shouldnt have to be that way. The word is out and people from all over the state are traveling to Blackwell to get in on the bite while its hot. Be prepared for elbow to elbow people and what some refer to as "Combat" fishing if you go to Blackwell. Here is a picture that my buddy sent me of the inside of the fish house this morning and its not even 730am.

Thanks for the picture and warning. I am with Ranger. I will not combat fish in a crowd.
