CP, over the last few years LCB has been producing more and more 12-14" fish. Not near as many fish taken out of the lake this year as there was a couple years ago so hopefully that continues over the next several years. Reports from the fish house is that it is still slow from it and the bank. You better let me know if you plan on heading this way so i can try and meet you out there or plan it on my day off and we can take my boat. Save you from pulling yours.
Fished LCB for 4 hours today with a buddy. We did pretty good catching 60+ fish but only keeping around 30. Water temp starting out was 65 but warmed up to 70 on main lake and 72 in coves. Fished structure in 18' on main lake and found them in coves in 7-10 foot of water. Black/chart beaver bottom baits, slabmasters from gdaddy and 2.5" Mikes in blk/chart and silver/pink. Still a lot of small fish but was able keep a lot of 11" fish with big fish at 13". Seen a few other boats up in the coves fishing shallow with not much luck. Maybe they will move up closer to the banks over the next couple days. Fish house reports are that its slow. Fish caught are small and a few saugeye are being caught there. This is just what I have heard from a few guys who have been hitting it pretty hard. I have not been fishing the fish house. Gonna hit it again this evening for a few hours. See if they are still hungry. PWC and rec boat traffic is beginning to pick up and its only going to get worse as we get closer to summer. Lake store by fish house is also open. They are carrying minnows and a small selection of baits. Not real sure of their hours yet but will find out.
Got on water tonight about 530 with my cousin. He had never double dipped, used big jigs or fished with braid so figured I would break out the Huckabee Pro Series and the Denali Pryme rods. Took him a bit to get used to holding them both and being quick enough to set the hook but he finally got it. We caught several fish in 17-19' of water using beaver Bottom baits, slabslayers and Mikes Custom. Hot color was the blk/chart. They was hammering the baits. Caught most fish down 11-15' and sprayed each jig with Slab Slobber. Lots of fish schooled up on structure. We would catch 5-7 fish and had to move on. We tried 3' and less for a bit alomg the rocks and flooded brush but only picked up a small saugeye and a small LMB. We ended with 23 fish in the livewell that all went 11" or bigger. Was a great evening of catching fish and watching my cousin learning new things. He was ready to buy new Pro Series tonight but ken is waiting on new shipment. Here he is with a couple fish he caught. Not a bad evening.

2 good reports SC. Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun!
Got out on LCB last week for a quick morning trip. Got on water around 930 and off water by 1115. Seen several large schools of fish on different piles and finally decided to drop the marker and try one. It ended up being the only one I needed to fish. It was structure in 19' that went up to 14' with fish stacked all around it from bottom to 12'. Turned out a lot of the fish were were hybrids, Sandbass and Channel cats. I started with two rods and quickly went to one when I almost lost one twice while taking the fish off the other rod. I was using Arkie 1/8 oz Pro Hineee hair jigs with a purple head, purple body and Chart tail with gold streamer mixed in. Landed 5 hybrids, lost 3 at top of water, landed 3 channel cats, several small sandies and several crappie. a lot of the crappie were 11" or bigger. The fish were hungry that morning. Had to leave early cause they were starting to die in the LW. Water temp was 86.8. May try this week to see how the evening bite is if I can find time. As far as fish house, I talked to one guy who fished it friday and sat morning and did fairly well using plastics in several depths. Lot of short fish but several keepers mixed in to. Cosuin fished yesterday morning on Flats on North side and tore up the Hybrids and Channel cats on live shad just drifting thru areas. said the fish were so thick in so many areas there was no need to mark one spot. was only 2 other boats fishing around him. Have not heard anything on Saugeye in prob a month.

Nice report Swollen!

All those in less than 2 hours? You're gonna start another stampede to LCB Swollen- yikes!
I am fine with posting in the summer, not near as many people own boats or willing to put up with the recreational boaters as there is who can just walk to the dock when the bite is hot. Winter time, you wont see many posts from me. Just have to watch out right now for an old guy that follows you around in a stick steer boat and marks all your piles and when he is around the fish stop biting. I have experienced that first hand with this guy. Real ugly sucker and I hear he has no idea what good fish tastes like. Think some call him rdjj71m. You will know it if you ever see him.![]()
CC...yes sir. it was a bite that I had not seen on LCB for a while. You couldn't lay one rod down without either it getting bit or dang near losing it like I did twice. Depth was not a huge issue really either. I was surprised to see the mixed fish all hanging out on that structure. It would of definitely been the time to take a kid or a newbie fishing, they would of easily been hooked for life!
