Thanks for the invite, would definitely swing by if I was going to be there! Heading to Tenkiller this weekend, try out some snorkeling gear I've been collecting up for a spearfishing trip to the Keys at the end of the month. Maybe get to try to crappie fish a bit; my folks have a cabin up at Wildcat Point and I've always meant to try to figure that lake out but haven't really fished it much. I know a couple of the guys on here tear em up on Tenkiller. Good luck this weekend!

crappiepappa
I work right behind the dam. I have fished the dam for short times before work (Work 7:30-4) and I have yet to catch a crappie off the dam. I've had people say "Oh, it must be great to work by the lake and see the water." I say "I see the water when I drive in and when I drive out."

Thanks for the heads up ASH. But I got a hall pass for the day and being as I've never fished it, that's where I'll start. That's alot of rip rap and I plan on working quite a bit of it, unless I can be talk into trying else where.

Hey, cp. I'd really like to be there Saturday morning to fish with you again. Unfortunately, we'll be in O'Fallon, Missouri to watch a granddaughter graduate from high school and watch her brother play baseball. Then again, maybe that's not unfortunate. Unfortunate will be if we can't sneak in a trip to Rend Lake. The wife says the trip will be strictly for family. My response as always, was that family fishing is the best family time you can get.

Let us know how that line works out for you Sky as I know many of us could use a convincing argument with our sweethearts. Did you marry a gal from up north in Bigsky country because Southern girls seem to have their " yeah right" meters a little more dialed in than that!

cc, Remembering our previous castigation, I am sticking with CB fishing, which has been producing small fish mostly. Guys have been getting a fair number of cats on their minnows. Maybe I should bring a cat rod.
Also, Swollen and I may be going out tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it. He'll probably make me a better fisherman.
As to the other matter, the wife (from Dillon)is the only girl I ever dated . She hooked me with: "I'll never ask you to not go hunting or fishing. As a matter of fact, I will be going with you." Now she says that kids, grandkids, and great grandkids are more important, and she is getting older. Sound familiar?

Lol! Sounds like the same transition my wife has made since I proposed to her during a fishing trip to Draper Lake 40 years ago! Now if I really want her in the boat I just mention that I need some help keeping the grand kids from falling out and she is in! That day I forgot to bring life jackets for them tho- been better for me if she had stayed home that day.

All of this banter is way too familiar. Why just last night I was less than 2 miles from one of my old fishing haunts but couldn't break free from my grandsons graduation ceremony. I guess I'm blessed though as he actually DID graduate!! The spawn only comes around once a year but high school graduation is once a lifetime.

Guess I should have read down and found this thread before making my post. Glad everyone still catching fish, will be heading back down again this week. How do you catch a saugeye on purpose, I got a baby on the bottom on a crawler, but would love a keeper.

I made it back down there again this morning. I caught 7 smallish crappie off the point across from the fishing shed before the clouds moved off, then only two more until I left around 1:00 pm. Still liked the crappie bites on the little electric chicken colored crappie assassin, mainly twitched along under a float. Mainly males, one female did have eggs, but looks like the spawn is winding down.
