Nice catch of slabs again! Congrats. :D

Washunga or Sarge areas? going to try Kaw next week just trying to get a starting place any help appreciated.

Not fishing any one place in particular. Just looking at the brush piles between sarge and coon creek. Have fished the rip rap when I couldn't get out of the wind. Using double minnow rigs with drop shots on 7 ft fiberglass poles. Used to use graphite but found the crappie would turn the bait loose with the stiffer poles. Fiberglass improved our catch rate by 30 % and they are cheap. Never fish without crappie nibbles whether the water is clear or muddy even with the minnows. Good luck

Just a clarification, we use glass rods when we drop shot multiple poles in rod holders. We use graphite when jig fishing and single polling. Crappie are up and down right now and are sluggish in the cold water. They prefer a stationary bait versus a moving bait right now. Water is getting close to 35 deg and is still murky. Deeper brushpiles have been better producers some days with brush in the 15 to 17 ft range better other days. It's been cold up here since Tuesday barely getting above freezing. Word of caution. Watch the boat ramps early. After the first boat unloads, they are solid ice.

^^^^ I could just imagine somebody's entire rig sliding down the ramp at Sarge Creek ramp and going into the lake or jack knifing on the way down.

This is when guys need to be courteous to others and pull the trailer out just far enough to get it out of the water and let it drain for a minute. You aren't going to miss a special bite by waiting a couple extra minutes to ensure everyone has a safe trip to the lake. Its a simple task, and it keeps you in the warm truck a little longer anyway!

Thanks for the info guys. Yes need to be very careful on the ramps when below freezing. x2 letting trailer drain before pulling completely out

I've had to pull people up those ramps more than once in the summer time when they draw the lake down and leave a coating of algae on it. When it gets wet, it's like snot.
