Fished Gibson again and the lake has came up at least a 1' and is getting dirty. Lots of debris coming down as well. We did see a really big floater that would of made for a bad day. Fish still on the wood in 6' to 12' DOW. Few females still with eggs and a few black males as well. No begging is needed..... If you don't get bit really quick MOVE.

Finally back on Gibson today fishing with my oldest son David. Again the bite was tough as yesterday with the LP system sitting right over head. Fish were tight lipped and had to entice them to bite. Fish were on the deep side of the break lines close to wood. Ended up with 20 really good fish cast n dragging woodpiles and laydowns. Slab Slayers and Slab Bandits in Pearl or Slat n Pepper were baits of choice along with 6lb BoneHead Mono and Rods.......Ranger

Fished Gibson with Dave Brown and his Grandson Evan yesterday and it was a tough bite. Big LP system overhead which made for a beautiful day for is but the crappie weren't having any part of it. Tuesday my son and I caught 5/1 Blacks over Whites but today we caught 7/1 Whites over Blacks. Guess the LP affected the Blacks even more than the whites. We started off on a cast n drag trip but the crappie would have nothing to do with it and ended up vertical in the thickest wood we could find in order to get bit. They didn't want to eat but they didn't want the jig in their space either which made for a very lite bite and many hookups that came off. Evan being just 13 stayed with us all day and was a lot of the times first in the water with his bait. He was also an expert with a spinning rod before the day was over. Well Done Evan. We fished today the Falcon Rod, BoneHead Rod, BoneHead Mono, Timmy Tom Jigs, Slab Bandits, and Slab Slayers. I also fished with a promo rod not mentioning a name yet to pick it apart for the dealer. I can say this about a product though...after fishing for several hours and some of the bites being so light they were almost undetectable unless you were a line watcher I applied Slab Slobber to our baits and it did create a harder strike. Thanks Dave and Evan for hanging in there with me today on a tough day fishing........Ranger

Great day on the water with my 13 year old grandson Evan who is visiting from Colorado! Ranger did a great job working with Evan on casting n' draggin' and fishing directly over brush piles. The fish we caught were quality fish and we took home about a gallon of filets...Evan, his Grandmother and I fished Eufaula at Crowder the next day and the Crappie still had lockjaw. The excitement of the day was while we were spider rigging, Evan caught a 3lb drum on one of my 14' Ozark rods. What a fight! Grandchildren are Great!!....Evan said I should buy a Ranger boat.....thanks a lot Ranger.......dave

Enjoy them GKids Dave! They grow up really fast! That is the downside of riding in one of those Ranger boats, you decide you want one!

Fished Main Lake today and usually this time of year the fish are back in the shallow spawning piles. Usually with the water at and above 82 degrees they are there. Well this isn't a usual year. First pile caught 3 really good fish fast. My hopes were high but quickly got stepped on. Fished for 5hrs and caught 5 keepers, 2 Dinks, 1 Sandbass, and 1 Cat. It's either has to get hotter or it's just the year. Fished over 20 piles so I would say they just haven't moved in yet.......Ranger
