Ranger. I was hoping to bird dog all your honey holes this week but instead have jury duty to look forward to. Good luck this weekend. I still think you should fish with one jig tied behind your back to give those other slabbers a chance!

Fished today on the upper end with clients (Dinkmaster George and ZaneName: 10-30-12 gibson 002.jpg

Size: 72.2 KB) and we had a wonderful day. We caught at or over 100 fish today and kept our limit of 45. We had some really big fish today with 4 of those being in the 2lb range according to my scales. DOW was 14' to 18' early and closer as shallow as 6' later in the day. WT was 59 degrees when we started at around 8am and got up to 63 around 5pm. Baits of choice were slab bandits, baby shads, slab slayers, and minnow minders. The highlite was when George snagged a 30 to 40lb Spoonbill and he did his tarpon interpretation coming out of the water and doing the tail walk. Didn't take him long to break the 6lb test line though..lol..After it was said and done we could of weighed in over 11lbs today with our best 7.....Ranger

So often I go fishing and hear " you shoulda been here yesterday". Well today my youngest son and I fished with Mark in a section of Gibson that I have never fished before and today was yesterday! Swam jigs over and through lay downs all day ( we had never done a chuck and crawl with crappie baits before) and had the best day of crappie fishing in the last 60 years! We were on big fish all day. If the bite slowed down at all Mark moved us to the next great hole. We must have left 20 or so lay downs that I would have been thrilled to fish on all day! So now I have a few new problems to work out. After spending the day in Mark's floating Embassy Suites my P175 seems cramped; Mark has more personality than my formerly acceptable fishing buddies; and worst of all the next elusive 12" slabette I catch is gonna look like a dink. This was a great day on the lake with really good company. Thanks again Mark. If you ever need another spoonbill lesson let me know.

George I don't know who had the best time you or me. Your a HOOT with a capital H and I truly enjoyed you and your son. God Bless you Buddy and we will do this again I promise....It was a remarkable day on the water and just think I have been doing this along with EB for over 2 months now. Ft Gibson is a remarkable fishery and with those big Black Crappies its a diamond in the rough....Ranger
