My cousin and I went for a little while this evening. Talk about WINDY! Had a hard time fishing where i wanted, so we went somewhere new. Had a really nice time, saw a huge Bald Eagle fishing along side us. WT 54, same story as yesterday on the how deep and what baits, brought home 22 today.

Fished Sunday, caught a limit. 12-23 fow Garlands in any color. Here's the biggest. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL147.../408263088.jpg
That's a good one! Bout time you got back on the water!! Glad you got on the fish.
Dang I figured ole Slabs went off and got MARRIED and forgot about fishin...JUST SAYIN since its been a year apart from posts....lol....Hope all is well with you BUDDY and its about time you ripped some lips.....Ranger
A buddy called last Thur and wanted to go so I set a new state record for feeding 300 cows and setting 5 corner posts. We caught a limit on Garlands out on the main lake. Lightest crappie bite I've ever seen, and I mean light. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL147.../408461264.jpg
That's what I'm talking about! Wish I could pic the days like that!
I would love to find some Blacks like that!! those are nice!
Did a little fishing today, after it warmed up! 20' in 40 fow. BG monkey milk, single poling had lots of throw backs before I got my limit. Fish were freezing to the cleaning table while I was cleaning them, brrrr.
Had 2 nice fish!

We will have some blacks to go with those whites tomorrow. Keep the time on the low key, I don't really want a bunch of press people at the ramp when we meet.
Roger on the time and place Slabs! Saw exactly 1 boat on the lake today.
Slabs and I took a little fishin trip today. Fish didn't want to cooperate. Been catching limits all the time til today! We had a good time even though the fish didn't cooperate. Thanks for going Slabs! Talked to 3 other killer guys all had the same story. Mudline is about Cookson .
Thanks to you. They should be starving tomorrow.
I hope!

Why do you think the fishing were not biting on Tuesday? I'm retired and would like to learn why crappie bite better on some days than others.
I don't have a clue MT! Went this morning, they still have lockjaw. If anybody as an idea why they do develope lockjaw chime in!!
http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/images/x-y/TENK.qt.png I always blame it on water flow if there no fronts messing with them.
Fishers I had reached the same conclusion! Do you know of a corps web site that actually shows which gates are open etc. , all I have found is the release data like you posted?
More detailed info at this site, it has the real-time water flow. Mouse over the station you want, left click and a box will show with a hydrogragh and other useful options. I like this site after hard rains to see which waterways are dumping hard into the lakes. The corps doesn't tell you where the water is coming from, just the total inflow to the lake from all tributaries. Lakes like Eufaula, Kerr, Keystone, Wister ect. have more than one major tributary, it helps me decide where to fish if I can see which tributaries are blown out. (NOTE) Sometimes you have to search up the tributary you want to check, before you find the station you need to check the flow. http://waterwatch.usgs.gov/?m=real&r=ok
Thanks Fishers I'll check it out!
That's good info
Well decided to go fishing this morning, my partner is out sick, so went by myself! Got on the water about 1100 or so, didn't take long to find the fish, 20' in 40ish feet of water. Saw lots of Eagles, they are cool! Saw 3 boats was all, the crappie wanted the bait on the drop. BBG Monkey Milk. Turned out to be a beautiful day.
Fishers, they are still running water so that kills my theory of why they weren't biting on Wednesday, I think.

Nice little mess there Redge. Upper end?
Pappa Upper end is no mans land currently, mid lake or even lower lake is good!
Cool! So I'm thinking Cherokee and up?
Sizemore to 82 bridge.
Sweet. Won't be much longer then and the lake will turn!
Redge, are those really nice fish or are you just good with a camera? So sorry that your digital scales fell in the lake- maybe you could borrow some from Ledge......no that won't work. lol. Appreciate the effort to post great pictures.
The old thread was moved to the archives above. You can look at it there. Post new reports here.
Odie
Got on the water about 9, I think. Fish still same place I left them. 20' deep in 40ish FOW. BGBS in blue thunder was the bait of choice. Saw more people fishing for crappie than I have in a long time. Caught some fish for dinner and went exploring. Oil drainer went with me today. Saw some eagles!!

Nice catch Redge and Slinger.
We did work today. Deep and shallow, Monkey Milk Garlands, and a little wind. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL147.../408545069.jpg
Little wind, were we on the same lake?? Lol. Slabs did you have more blacks or whites today? All whites for us, ended up with 10. We got on the water to late, bite shut down 30 minutes after we got there. Couldn't fish where we wanted because of the wind. Had a great time, even had time to get some maintenance done.
Most blacks. The bite was early for us too.
Good reports, I'm gonna have to give it a try. Got my boys 6th birthday party sat, but maybe Sunday or Monday I can venture that way. Any suggestions on boat ramps, techniques, or areas of lakes for someone who's not fished the lake? Not asking for specific spots, just maybe some general areas. Thanks in advance.
I sent you PM Bowman.
Will be doing a little recon work in the am.
Senior Jigger fished Tuesday and had his limit out of 3 piles. 9 Blacks and 6 Whites. Couldn't get bit from the trees but we all know how that goes from day to day. Been under the weather for 2 weeks and I can't wait to get the Ranger wet again. Look out next week cause I feel there is going to be some serious damage to the crappie population before weeks end......Ranger
