Night fished tonight for crappies and cats. Put out led lights, one at 3 ft deep and another one right below that at 7 foot deep. In 10 feet of water off that tree in the middle of willow branch cove. Wife fished for crappies with minnows and I fished for cats with big perch. She caught a crappie about every 10 minutes from sundown till 11pm. Not a one over 8 inches. She loved it though. I caught a 36 lb flathead about 25 yards casted out away from the lights. That's my biggest catfish on tbird btw. We let all the fish go.
PS.... got new lights on the front of the boat and noticed something odd... never had really bright lights like these before but there's a bunch of white stuff floating on just the surface of tbird up near the cove we was in.... thought it was millions of tiny Styrofoam beads like someone had ran a boat dock through a cheese grater. Only problem though outside the lights it vanishes. Anyone know what it is? Not wave reflections either, lake was flat as glass after dark and I've seen that before.
