Welcome Daniel, Two good places to usually catch some crappie are the pump station and the cage by the dam. The pump station is a large cement structure on the north side of the Little River arm of Thunderbird. The cage is below the building on the dam. There is a buoy there to mark it and it is literally a huge cage (about 20'x20') under water. Later, after the spawn, there are lots of fishing markers/buoys where you can find them. A map of Thunderbird usually has them marked.
The best time to fish is whenever you can.

nice work grubby. were yall fishing the grate? looks like you are near the dam. did u look shallow for any?
yep we hit several of the brush piles in 12ft of water or less and didn't have any luck found them at 14 to 17 foot by THE grate. but there is a bunch of brush between the grate and the first set of buoys south west of the grate looked like some one had been working real hard at making a very large area to fish when some one else is fishing the grate. With the 997 nothing is safe from discovery.

Daniel you have to remember that the first time you went to Wetumka it was a new lake. You have to break the new lakes in sometime and with all the great fishing buddies on this website you will get a lot of help. I been going there (tbird) for years and still get skunked at times. I will be trying some new lakes out this just to get into some new water for a change. Good Luck.
I can't believe how low the water is at T-bird. Are there any good spots for the spawn left? All the shallow timber I usually target is on shore!
Jeremiah 16:16a "But now I will send for many fishermen," declares the Lord, "and they will catch them."
Wow, I never thought of it that way! Guess I'll head to the brushpiles as usual..
went out today and had a pretty good day....caught around fifty anywhere from 10 feet of water to 20....most were dinks. caught all but four fish on minnows...they did not want the jigs of any color ...around 15 made 11 inches and one big ole gal with a softball in her belly only made around 12 inches....but, don't worry...my motto is free the fighter...if i want to eat fish i will go to catfish cove!..I was going to fish the grate but could not find it...where on earth is it....i went around all the buoys and never came across it....i know it should come up pretty shallow...i used to fish the slope of it in 14 feet of water and no luck finding it.....whats up with all the new buoys?......and that new dock should sure help those bank fisherman.....that was my go to spot since 1984.....oh well...guess good things can't last forever.
