I've had some luck on the west side of the twin bridges by boat but not bank. Water is pretty down on that side of the lake except where the river channel is. Haven't tried Denver Point. Best bet if you want to definitely catch crappie is Little Axe dock early in the morning or in the evening. You can't start fishing it until about 7am when it is light enough out. Folks start to roll in around 8:30ish on weekends. Probably not as many people early in the morning weekdays. Beware when people do start to show up. About the non fishingish people you'll ever meet. They just care about dropping a minnow right off the dock and make the most noise you'll ever here. I usually only fish until around 9:00-9:30ish and then I gots to go. Next year I won't have to deal with this because I'll have me a jon boat.

Fishing report: caught a very small bass, not even worth keeping. Gonna try again next weekend. - drnip I appreciate your willingness to help an ole boy out

I believe all the rain has shaken things up. The dock wasn't biting as good as it has been the last three weekends. Looks like we will have some warmer, calmer days this week and I bet next weekend will be good.

The wife and I made it out a couple times last week. Water temp was 78. The first evening, we caught 15-20 and the second day was a little bit slower. We were able to fish about 3 hours each time. The fish are a bit scattered but could only get bit on trees and stumps. Cedar piles weren't doing it. All were on jigs. All in 2 - 14 fow. lol thats a wide range I know, but the fish were following the bait fish into the coves. Depth didn't matter as much as location it seemed like.
Its gonna be hard to get to many from the bank right now. Most of the deeper water doesnt get close enough to the bank for that. The 2 places drnip talked about are about the only 2 I can think of that would be very good to try now. The lake is so low that most of the docks are hanging up out of the water. We put in at Denver point the other day and cldn't use the loading dock because you need a ladder to get in the boat lol.

Cancel the weekend idea I previously mention. Better get out there before big front blows in this weekend.
The Little Axe dock is so low that a stump has pushed up thru the plank on the northwest side of it. It's just plum stupid how low these lakes are now a days. Need to start getting more rain. :help

Anyone fishing Tbird these days? A new work schedule has put a cramp in my going out lately. I'm going to try and get out there this weekend.

too low for me - going to Kaw.

Ken been wondering about you glad to see your still kicking .....Ranger
-
Oh, yeah - still kicking. Just not as hard or as often. All my old hunting and fishing partners have retired to the recliner. Been doing some traveling, a little hunting and thought I would get the boat out tomorrow and run up to Kaw to look it over. A guy I know brought in a nice bunch of big slabs a week or so ago. I've never been on it - was planning to early in the year but a week of rain put a stop to that. We sure need some more rain all over the south. I like T'Bird a little but don't like fishing in water that low (or muddy.)
