used both at twin bridges fish were right on the bank. using black and pink solid body 1/32 oz jig head 18 inches behind a very small slip cork with a splitshot at the bbase of the cork. throwing parallel to the bank. on saturday we decided just to take the jigs so we would have to carry the minnow bucket. we did even better but the fish were 6-8 ft off the bank. caught a good saugeye on one of those "one more casts" as the sun was going down. it was a real fight to talk my son in to turning it loose.Attachment 61753

Did pretty good yesterday...caught well over 200 crappie.....alot of throw backs and borderline 10 inchers....ended up keeping around 50 that were good enough to eat.....fish are still in 3 and 4 feet of water around brush and stick ups....Catching most fish on jigs ....not catching as many females with eggs.....there are alot of people fishing and catching from the bank. The Hog Creek boat ramp still is producing good numbers....get out there and catch some....the spawn will be coming to an end soon!!!!...Good Luck!

May try my luck at thunderbird tonite if the wind dies down. What's the best time to fish hog creek ramp?
-
when the cops not there to run you off LOL! they don't want anyone fishing within 150 ft of boat ramp or dock.
-
lol...no kidding grubby....seen it myself.....lake patrol came one morning when i was there....ran everyone off while he just left his truck and trailer in the water in the way of the ramp while he did a morning patrol.......I don't see a problem with fishing there as long as everyone is courteous to boats trying to use the dock which I have not had a problem with yet....everyone has been great, even holding my boat while I back the trailer down.....
Stew....I heard someone say that 430 in the morning was a good time to be there...but that was two weeks ago....I have seen them catch fish at all times when I am putting in and bringing the boat out.

Cool. I think my wife & I are going out this evening bout 8 or so. Put in at hog creek & start fishing west of the ramp I guess.

Tubing At Thunderbird
Howdy,This is my first time to post on here.I thought I would share what is happening with me at T-bird.I started at 530Am yesterday morn in my float tube around Marina. It started out slow but picked up as it got daylight.Caught some still shallow, water temp was 67when started. It was very cold on my hands the first couple hours with the wind blowing and 47degrees.I kept thinking when the sun broke thru and clouds cleared they might bite better, wrong exactly oppisite. They shut down around 11am I wound up keeping 17 keepers 10-12 inches.I have really done well the last three weeks in the same area.I have found a lot af small brush piles and tornado trash in water with my wader boots and by just hanging up on them, all were holding fish.1-9ft of water.I took a break midday got something to eat and went to Post Oak on oppisite side of lake. I caught a few more late afternoon off concrete ramp and doodlesocking what stumps are still in water.wound up with 11 more keepers.I didnt catch any big ones all day like I had been prior 3 weeks. It has been fun and hate to see shallow water bite winding down.I have met a lot of really nice folks at T-bird while floating around in my tube and sharing info with them.I think if the weather would settle we could still have a couple more weeks catching them off the bank.Good Luck And Good Fishing! See Ya At T-Bird. Ronnie.

Sunday afternoon,
put in at hog creek and went north, jig fishing, crappie were slow and it was hard to stay out of the wind. no big ones, lots of dinks, even the new marina didn't have any crappie on it, had to find really smooth water to get any bites,
