Years ago I used to go up there early in the season. It was early enough that there was skim ice on the lake in the morning. I had a big jon boat and would use it as an ice breaker to open up some water to fish. I'd open 2 or 3 spots along a drop off or point and give them a little time to settle down. When I went back, I use to set slip floats a foot off the bottom and drift them past some brush or along a ledge/point. We used to catch a bunch of crappie and sauger off those spots.
Most of the fish seem to run 9"-10". Most now seem to run 7"-9". I did manage a few pretty nice fish last year. I was throwing 3" twister tail grubs tippid with minnows fish ing for saugeye and caught a couple of really nice crappie.

Do you guys know if the whole lake is muddy or is it the upper end? Alot of times the mud would be worse on the upper end to maybe the island or the big point and clearer up towards the dam.
