Started the day going into work at 7:00 am, then proceeded to brake the machine I was running. Since there was no maintenance, there was no reason for me to stay. So, I left work at 9:30 am with the intention of finding some hungry fish. To my surprise as I was on my way home I drove past a couple of lakes to find them skimmed over with ice. Of coarse this only happens in Ohio. I decided I would go home and take care of a few things and try to make the family life easier, then hit the lake about mid afternoon thinking the sun would melt the ice. Well at 1:30 pm I was off to the lake. The area I wanted to hit was wide open no ice at all. I threw everything I had to no avail. About 2 hours later I moved to the other side lake, and now it's about 3:30 as I'm driving to the other side I notice that a lot of the sheltered bays are still covered with skim ice. Again nothing! So I packed it up and headed out. I ended up heading towards home when I thought why not try some moving water. It's kinda on the way home and what do I have to loose at this point? So I stop at a little spot that bobberbucket had told me about just to see if I could get rid of the skunk. Well it worked, no crappie, but two bass and one nice perch! It was nice to get rid of the skunk, but the highlight was meeting Bigeyurk25 and getting to put a face with a name. All in all it wasn't that eventful, but it was nice getting out and meeting some new people. Sorry no pics, hands were frozen to pole.

Nice report! Way to keep pushing till you find them it’s the key to success! Bigeyurk sent me a couple pictures earlier looks like he caught a couple as well.

Well boys it looks like it’s gonna be a nicer than yesterday which is always a plus! The forecast is looking promising with the exception of more snow in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. I’m gonna be stuck around the house playing good husband today. Hopefully someone gets out today and posts up some fish P*** PICTURES . That sunshine should really help the surface temperatures in the shallows today if it were me I’d be throwing very small presentations 1/64th jigs and 1” inch baits or live minnow and gold number 6 hooks. 4-6fow would be where I’d place my bet. Best of luck to whoever makes it out today I’ll just be sitting here grumpy watching fishin shows wishing.

Well, I woke up at 9:00 this morning. Been dealing with this damn sickness everyone keeps spreading around the house. That being said, I'm going to take care of some home life things, then I'm going to sneak off to some hopefully open water at a Local Lake. Maybe the first crappie of the year will grace me with its presence. Stay tuned.
