We just spent a month jumping around fish camps in Florida, and i will tell you there is nothing like 2 lb crappies to beat the winter blues, enough so that we are planning on heading south again next year. We traveled I-65 though Alabama and if the weather was warmer I may have spent a week or so at Weiss, Guntersville or Wheeler. I will keep your place in mind for next winter, we are planning on going down in Feb, which is closer to the southern spawn time, but I do agree big slabs can be had through out the year.
