Late Cowan Lake report

I fished Cowan earlier in the week with a friend. Since we're into June I figured all the fish had moved onto deeper structure. Well we didn't get a fish or even a hit for that matter. After maybe 3 hours of this even I can take a hint so I moved to some of my favorite shore line spots to try my luck. After about 10 minutes I knew it was a good move. We didn't keep track of a total but we caught a bunch of fish. Most were small but some spots held some pretty decent fish. For the 2nd time in 2 years I was surprised by catching a ring perch (a friend of mine caught 1 last year). I have to say it amazes me to see them show up because I've fished there for over 40 years and these are the 1st one I've seen.

All fish were returned for another day but we did put a few in the box for a photo.

Those are nice..here in Georgia I have been looking for deep structure fish and they just aren't there yet for whatever reason..not on my lake at least
