Crappie afternoon Bass fishing

Had a cpl hours to fish before heading home today, so I stopped by a small prv pond that I had only fished once before, was throwing a blk/blu flake craw texas rigged for Lmb with out any luck at all, then hooked up with what felt like a weak Lmb, when I caught a glimpse off him, it looked like a Lmb shaped like Smb, but upon landing him ,it was clear this Lmb had black dot and different color eyes! wth, it was the biggest Crappie I've seen in Ohio, 20" and much less caught or may ever catch, I had to share the slab! Call it dumb luck or whatever I 'll take it

Nice fish.
Years ago a friend of mine caught a really big crappie on a night crawler fishing for bass.
Maybe you're on to something?
