I'm headed out in the morning. Still catching em deep. How bout you? Wanted to go today but we had 50 mph SW gusts and decent current. That spells giant rollers so I chickened out. No ramps in the creeks around here. It's all a pretty good boat ride from where I have to put in. I'll brave it when's it's warm, but taking a wave in Dec is not appealing. Nice slabs. I get a kick every time I catch em like that out of the river.

Depends.... Creeks with depth yes I'm getting them deep. But I have been getting "some" in shallow creeks fishing shallow.... Most deep though... I was gonna go today also... That wind was no joke, I went to the gun range and tried out some new concealed carry hand guns. 😬😬😬

I really don't want to carry but it's got to happen. My very next door neighbor just got broken into at 2am Few months back. They are elderly.. They were tied up and threatened to be killed if he didn't give up money. It was just one guy. Just gotten out of jail from Adams county 2 days prior... He took money, a gun and the old mans truck.... Very unique truck so he was caught two days later.... The nicest old couple you could ever meet. He is a veteran. He tried to get to his gun, but was knocked down by intruder prior to getting to it... Although he is a half mile from me he is my very next door neighbor. That was the straw that broke the camels back. Wife and I both got our license... Amazes me how much a little one changes you. I have an 18 month old and I gotta say it would take a lot to make me shoot someone but if someone is after my wife or kid they are dead. At least now... Had that guy broke in my house that night, this home was gun free. Still not super comfortable with guns. Have some classes lined up. As much as I love outdoors, I've never hunted, and never owned guns. I have never been against guns one bit and lived shooting friends guns just never had my own.

I pretty much feel the same. I have owned some long guns but no pistols. Have no desire to shoot for fun, but I do want to be able to a weapon effectively and safely. Not wanting a cannon either, just something easy to carry and effective. Thinking about a Smith and Wesson bodyguard .380. On a more positive note, got 22 white crappie today. Deepest I've caught em yet. They were 17 to 20 ft just off the bottom. Had to drift slowly around the brush to catch em. Here's a couple of our biggest

380 body guard is one of the two I tried out at the range and liked. The other was a ruger lcp 380. Ruger I think is simpler and a touch smaller but I felt the body guard felt better to shoot..... Still coin flipping on which one, I like them both.... Those fish are nice man good job! U using 8th ounce heads to fish that deep or??
