Well, since the Mayflies are out, the fish are getting their fill....don't forget that this is the time that Smoke/silver glitter come into play at CJ...either Curley tail grubs, or the Smoke Shad swimbaits I just bought! Normally Smoke and Silver glitter will catch Crappie through the Spawn.

Nice fish in about 10 fow....natural colors, smoke/silver, Bluegill Flash....haven't tried chartreuse yet!
Any reports from the weekend? I have one day to fish this week and it looks like tomorrow is it ...
Went out today...dinks shallow??? Hit all the spawning areas, found aquarium fish....Found meat in deep water!:) ended up with 14 over 12...natural colors.Quote:

Made it out 2 different times today...in-between storms.
First time was 1-4...hit shallow water again and caught a few dinks....hit deep water and they were still there....natural colors were the ticket.
Went back out from 5:30 til 7...caught a few deep water fish first on bright colors....wind started blowing from the North and they shut down.
Very surprising that they are still waiting!
Been a while since I've visited, but still like reading your posts Brent. I hopefully will make it out this weekend. Haven't been fishing yet this year.

With all that warm water going in, the water levels are already at Summer Pool....the Shad and Carp are spawning also. Only caught dinks in shallow water...This should be a good spawn in the creek. Crappie are still deep...caught my first WB and 12 Crappie over 11 inches with a 13.5...all on Bluegill flash, IN DEEP water!
