I got my Christmas presents early....went out from 3 until after 5 and had a blast.
There were others out and 4-5 boats.
Water was calm and clear...the fish were smacking a slow moving bait.
Took my double drop shot pole and didn't have a bite on it....today, they were hunting and eating.
Caught 27 total Crappie and 2 LM, 1 LM after dark....6 Crappie were right at 12 inches, the rest were 7 to 10.5 inches.
The females are growing nice eggs, fat and healthy.
Hard to believe it is Christmas Eve.
Beautiful out, I think it's a full moon too!

Sweet Christmas catch Brent! I'm glad you finally got out to wet a line. I am planning on taking the boat out all winter if el nino keeps the upper hand. Congratulations!

Who says Big Fish won't bite in the rain and after Christmas!lol
They were smacking the 3" Natural baitfish colors again, from noon till 3pm.
Had my rain gear on but it started pouring and my hands got cold and the rocks got slick.

Caught 28 Small Crappie, 2 dink Gators, and the LM...the LM was a blast.
Water was still clear but the have dropped CJ a couple feet below Winter pool....I think the COE is having panic attacks....guess they're planning for 40 days and nights of rain!lol
I built a platform in 2013 to fish out in the water at Winter pool...the pic shows how far it is out of the water.

Guys, to those of you that know me, I'm officially retired as of Friday so I can go fishing whenever I damn well please this Spring. The Sylvan is all covered up right now but I figure to break her out about March this year. Let me know if you want to go on a boat ride (with fishing equipment.)
