Yeah, I saw that, what a shame.
I say they should fix it at any cost. Ohio doesn't have enough inland water IMO.

For those of you who haven't been following the thread on the other site, looks like there's a good chance Buckeye Lake will be drained for dam repair. There are other options as well in a report by the Corp. Lots of controversy, as the state apparently allowed folks to build homes etc, on the dam, which has caused deterioration in the dam integrity. Sounds strange to me that anyone would build a home on a dam, but there it is. Can't imagine the huge fish in that lake gone--would take years to recover. At the least, they're not going to refill the lake and will keep it drawn down 3 feet for the foreseeable future, until they decide what to do to repair the dam. Here's a link to a brief report on a Columbus station, but there are lots more:

Utterly Amazing!
Buckeye has been a cesspool for many years during summer...hopefully they can repair the dam!
IMHO, to do it right, they need to get the houses and Septic off the dam, repair it properly, and dredge it deeper...But Hey, they are the smart ones that caused this!
Remember Crappiemax, the State is Broke, due to our reliance on "Social Programs" etc, we cannot afford to spend the proper money to clean up GLSM or other waterways, fix highways/bridges/etc, stop the Carp and other invasives, check any licenses, monitor water, on and on and on!lol
Maybe we can pass another School levy to help those that built ON A EARTHEN DAM!

I try not to do politics....a lot of this all started way before us and there are no easy fixes.
BTW I've been checked by the warden and I've run into people checking water quality at the LMR so it's not all is bad.
As far as Buckeye goes, I just feel they need to do whatever is necessary to fix the problems. If they have to buy the homeowners out then do it.
