    Default CJ Brown?

How is the crappie fishing on this lake? Now that I have lived in Dayton for 4 years, maybe i should try it sometime. Is winter fishing any good?

    Thanks guys

We have pics on the CJ thread and starting to build some info again...the Crappie fishing is fine, the lake is tough and you have to know the species and patterns. Once water temp drops below 40 the bite is like ice fishing even when the water is open...once it hits 41 they will hit a moving swimbait again. IMHO, if you do go out in the winter and there is no ice, you will have to fish the docks, vertical fish off a boat, or bobber fish off the bank.

    Good Fishing!

Thanks for the reply. I am an Eastfork crappie fisherman and was looking for some close action to the house. I am sure I will give it a try sometime. Is there any standing timber?

    Thanks.

No standing timber....everything is under water....many depth variations/drop-offs/flats, rocks, some structure, some manmade cover, and some vegetation.

Check this out...maybe it will answer you question. This is from last December.
Probably fishes the same as EF in the winter but no standing timber.

Nice haul, sirs ! And if you only knew just how many "C" trees, "BB"s and PVC attractors have crossed those docks on a 1 way trip...

Is it just me or did anyone else think some of those were kinda on the dinky side??? Maybe it was just the camera playing with my eyes! I'm sure that was it!

Silly question perhaps but did you manage to mark any cover ? Would be fishing the deep (S) side of the gravel bar just NW of the Marina; there`s a spring fed DEEP hole...
