Probably some good thoughts from Intimidator but fish advisories are issued by the EPA see link below. One thing I like about the EPA's website is they give you the info they have so you can make an informed decision as to what is better for you to do since everyone is different.

Like everything else, they have neglected to at least speculate on long term health issues or at least do studies to determine if there are any???
The site gives info on the HAB's and what water system if effected, but what health issues can be caused from eating fish....how do they know that the Toxins are just in the organs and fat....the fishes fat is used during Winter, where does the toxins go?? Are they absorbed and processed by the muscle meat?

Smokers and life long sunbathers like myself, know that what they are doing can and probably will kill them, or cause serious health problems in later life, but we continue to do it anyways...people understand that certain things contain poisons, toxins, etc and they either play Russian Roulette or stay away from them...Maybe it does take a life time of eating bad fish from our lakes to kill you, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO BE THE CAUSE OF MY YOUNG SON'S DEATH, just because I was not informed of the consequences of Toxins in our water. Until someone does several studies and has an answer, I am siding on the cautious side!

IMHO, it seems that the EPA, ODNR, etc, do not want to hurt a billion dollar Recreation/tourism industry by "crying wolf"....they also don't want to spend the money needed to fix the problem or find out if the problem has short term or long term effects.
This is also MY OPINION, but if you let your child swim in contaminated water with health warnings, you at least should be fined or jailed for child endangerment! My idea of punishment would be much harsher.... The idiots on TV that continued to allow their children to swim in POOP and BACTERIA, should be made to drink it and see what it can do to them....just telling your child not to drink the water is IRRESPONSIBLE PARENTING....FREAKING IDIOTS!

got back from the Doc's with good news and bad, good news I got one day to live, bad news,,,should have told you yesterday Gues I had better sell out I'm going to give away the boat and trailer and just sell the motor (all as a package)

The eye is the same, no pain now but continued blurred vision/blind...I go in Friday to have eye drops made from my blood...the Processed "Blood Drops" will have growth hormones and healing factors in the plasma that they hope will fully heal my Cornea.
Hopefully I can fish in another Month!

Heard people were having tomatoe issues...
The "Miller System" continues to work in all conditions....no disease, no bugs, healthy plants and fruit, and huge healthy plants.
They are just a little shorter than normal, only about 10 feet tall right now!
With the coming heat, they will be 13 feet tall soon.
They are drinking about 6 gallons of water each, twice a day...loaded with fruit from top to bottom.
You can see the last bag on fertilizer laying on the surface of the barrels.
Each time you water the NATURAL FERTILIZER (Properly formatted for tomatoes) is released also.
Been eating tomatoes since June....now I'm feeding 4 families and a couple friends...it will be like this till frost.
I do like the plastic barrels better than wood ones I used for 10 years....they hold heat better in Spring, and water better in the heat of summer, than the wood ones, and are easier to move.

What is the Miller System? My plants are suffering bad from all the rain. I have tomatoes but the pant itself looks really bad.

Barrels allow proper drainage and water control...they also hold heat for the roots. Been growing different salad lettuce, green lettuce, herbs, onions, cucs, tomatoes, and peppers in barrels....The asparagus, corn, strawberries, etc, in the huge raised/ fenced garden.

Barrels are filled with water control soil, in Winter a 8lb bag of Espoma vegetable or Tomatoe fertilizer is added to each and worked in. In Spring another 8 pounder is added around the edges...Around the end of March, completely bury your foot tall tomatoe plant except for the very top leaves (do not remove leaves or branches, bury it all) The whole plant will develop into a root system. You will not have to feed or water till they start growing taller...Cover with cotton towels, if it drops below freezing (cotton breathes). The barrel will heat up and hold heat even if the air is cool, and the whole barrel becomes a root .
This allows for extreme growth and production for tomatoes.
It also allow your control of water and food....about July, I add another 8 pounder to the surface, to take them through the end of the season.
I water till it trickles out of the bottom holes, morning and night, if we don't get alot of rain....if you do get alot of rain, the barrels and moisture soil drain the excess.
If you leave, you can use a dipper system to handle watering.
Easy and efficient.
The poles are four 10 foot sections of 2 inch pvc...with 1/2 inch pvc into ladder steps (1/2 inch holes drilled, pvc glued and screwed). 2 ladders are tie strapped together around barrels base, with top connector.
They withstand any storm...so far!

My garden is new this year. I really didn't put much effort into it. I bought a load of what was supposed to be 50/50 mix of top soil & compost last year and just placed it on the ground. I didn't do anything to it except spread it on the ground. The mix is really pretty bad and it needs some compost added which I plan to do this fall and into next spring. My eventual goal is to raise the whole area a bit with some timbers as I figure out what area I want to use and how much space I need.
My wife has a degree in horticulture and manages an estate's landscape and gardens. She's amazed anything even grew this year.
I thought about using containers for tomatoes next year, you've got me thinking
