We headed to cliffs at lunchtime and got a nice channel and a 14 bass .they seem to be hitting much better then last yr for us so far .what color keitechs are good I had blue and silver w squid sent and green silver squid . I don't think they have a lot to choose from at fs
Remember, keitechusa.com has the new Crazy Flapper that is awesome too....In swimmers, I like the Sight Flash (White) then dye the nose and paddle Chartreuse for Bright conditions....Black would be next for me, Black/Blue for dark days or night, and the green/chartreuse....others like the pumpkin, etc.

Fished tonight with Jeff (CrappieDreamer) and Roy (Texasflatsfisherman)
From 3 til 7:25pm...caught alot of fish but not as hot and heavy as yesterday.
Great time out with buddies and fish...had a 4 species day, but couldn't get a Bass or Walleye...thought I had a BIG Walleye, but it was that dang Kitty.
I think Jeff had big fish at 13.5...he took home a nice mess of slabs.
Caught a bluegill that grabbed a 3 inch swimmer, dang thing hit like a little Sherman tank, man was he brave....spared his life, with balls that big he deserved to live!lol
Put a few more BIG girls back that still had eggs, catching alot of females that have dropped already.

Bill and I fished morning till 2:30....we caught fish on everything...every color, every size....I caught 8 inch fish on 4 inch swimmers, we caught fish on solid black, and glow twister tails.
We just couldn't get any size...until we switched to the crazy flappers....then the BIG Mommas started biting and lasted through the rains. They tore those craws up...we didn't think any big fish were around...once I put one on to experiment, and started catching them, I went to the car and got the 3 colors in the 2.8 size.
Then all we caught were big slabs, one girl was almost 15 inches....several 14 and 13's...they were full of eggs and we put them all back to spawn.
It was a blast....they knocked the heck out of them.
Great day and we even got a shower.
Ate at the restaurant....big change from last year...clean, AC on, and no bugs...food is good.

The people that ran it last year tried to save money by never using the AC....they open the doors and let all the lake bugs in....so you sat in heat, with bugs everywhere, and the place stank....for some reason, they couldn't understand why business was bad!lol

Good riddance to bad rubbish ! They were supposedly not paying Workman`s Comp, was paying the help $3.00 or less an hour , their 1 bait shop guy was busted for drug possession, the Park Office received something around 45 complaints about the service, bathrooms, serving food and minnows and bait over the same counter, ect and what they later stated as their State Concession Operators Annual Report did not match their total reported monthly sales. The State told them that they were NOT allowing them to continue their operation and to clear their stuff out...

You know it really makes you wonder why someone would even bother to go into business in the 1st place.

The second week of June the Army COE will shut the dam gates and drain the spillway outlet creek, to check the concrete and do needed repairs. They will net all fish and take back to CJ...so if you want to see what was in the creek at the outlet, show up!
I will try to call Brian and get a definite date and time.

    Fritz
Next week you won't need heat...I'll find out tomorrow how long I'll be off and may visit the restaurant more!lol
