This rig is the first rig I thought of using for the new crazy flappers.
Hey Jesse, I'll try a couple of those in 1/4 oz....those are normally used to punch through mats of vegetation, but I think you are onto something the way you are using them!
I'll be using the weights on Trokars, with the BIG Flappers for Bass, and the small Flappers with Yaks swivel heads for Bull Crappie and Gators!
I think the 2.8 flapper will be the newest Crappie bait! :):):) NO WAY A BULL SLAB CRAPPIE IS PASSING UP LOBSTER!lol
Happy 2015 to everyone....May Mother CJ Bless You with a Great Year of Fishing!
Best Wishes and Many Blessings to you also!
And all of you also !
CJ had ALOT of 50 degree water added...hopefully this will keep her liquid during this next week....it sure doesn't look good with Minus temps coming later in the week....I can only hope....Spring fishing is just a couple months away!!!:):):)
Watch CJ get "HARD" real fast...
Hey Jesse
Look what just came in....I'm already getting some ready for Walleye.
The Sight Flash is not actually White...this time he added the powdered squid scent to them and they really look like a shrimp color!:)
I can't wait for the 2.8 flappers...they will be my 2nd "Go-To" Crappie bait.
The packaging just reached a new high to keep these things perfect...to get gull action you have to gently separate the flappers....so it also allows varied degrees of action.
Way to "match the hatch". You are truly demented and I say that with nothing but the greatest respect. It's funny...I thought I could smell the dye and got a little light headed.
Thanks Shag...Demented just means I'm always experimenting, adapting, and trying to improve....that's my story, if it works or not. :)lol
Seems to me, that fish can become sensitive to lures, colors, etc, especially if they have been caught a few times. Each year it seems that the Main Crappie color for BIG SLABS will change...this way if they get tight lipped, I can tempt them with a tasty morsel they haven't seen yet.
Walleye like the same colors, but different action at certain times seems to trigger them...Bass also seem to have a memory and switching between a couple different plastics can lead to bites in areas that you covered earlier, sometimes the difference between a regular swimbait's action and the action from something like the flapper, with the same retrieve, will get you bites!
I really like these things, I will be able to run them like swimmers or like the old Dalhberg craw that I loved.....the Blue/Black/Silver glitter, is one of my favorite Largemouth Bass colors in stained water and at night....the Delta Craw color, is like the Dalhberg craw color that worked so well for Smallies at CJ. I dyed the Chartreuse, Orange, and Pink ones for the Gators that love the Bright "Gummy" colors.
Like I said, the 2.8 is going to be a Smash Hit for "Pavlov's Dog" Crappie, they won't know what hit them...I've got my colors pick out already, as soon as they become available!
