Spring time crappie can be caught at the mouth of the fingers feeding the main lake. They go back out in June and must be caught from a boat.

Of course acton has so many baby crappie that you gotta catch a couple hundred to get a dozen keepers. So if you want to catch fish and release, acton can be a blast.

Good luck!
Baby Crappie thats funny, but I agree the ratio of keepers to throw backs at Acton seems like its gotten worse the past couple years, although today (8/24/14' at 85 degrees was the exception, I tryed a different section of the lake and half where keepers, plus a 24" channel cat on my 4 1/2' dock shooting pole with 4# mono was a bonus and the high light of the Day.
I will have to try Rush Run for Bass although Ive been warned about getting hung up on all the wood, maybe it will be worth it?
