Herb, I believe that is they key number. I'd call a marina and see if they have a key available. I'd almost bet that OMC only made a few keys for their ignition switches.
If it were me, I would call the guys in the parts department at Hern Marine.

I have a OMC / Johnson ignition switch that has no key. There is a 269 imprinted on the switch. Is this the key number I need?
How can I by-pass this switch to test if motor will fire? This motor hasn't ran in a few years, I've been told.
By chance, anybody have one or a switch with a key.....

Turns out, the switch was an after market and #51 of series 77 did the trick. You were right, only 4 styles.
