When posting, you don't have to get down to the nitty gritty with details when posting. I certainly don't advocate that. In fact a little discretion would be advised in discussing exact locations. It's just that I mostly only get a chance to fish on weekends and I just assumed that of the other 200 boats out there that I wasn't the only guy who caught a fish.

I do wish we could get more guys posting from other parts of the state.

if you post that the fish are biting...they will come
i proved that several years ago on an ice fishing forum, i single handly brought the masses to a previously deserted lake.
Folks from all across the state, and even out of state came...

Nobody here is against helping people out, id be willing to bet 90% of the people who have posted on this have sent PM's to people to help them out, either with locations or general fishing information. However there is a reason they were sent via PRIVATE MESSAGE. Ive never recieved a "thank you" for a fishing report, but i have for private messages.
Wether you like it or not, there is a huge amount of "online fishermen" who wait for people to post reports, and only show up after the hard work has been done. This is why some folks are edgy about photos and posts on the internet, its goes far beyond the intended audience.

i am a bit perplexed though, if all these reports are done to be helpful, why are they always so vauge?
Its obvious the original post in this thread wasnt meant to be helpful, but it definately brought attention to a fairly crowded lake to begin with. Probably why one of the guys who fish it regular spoke up.

My reccomendation is to log off and pick up a pole, the fish are biting EVERYWHERE right now

Wow!!! Never knew a post on my catch for the day would be a thorn in so many peoples sides. I will not apologize for my post. That is what this site is for to post and to share. I shared my catch for the day and water temps plus water color and if you have noticed with alot of trips I post, I put depth fished (fow) and depth I caught them... So to say my "original post in this thread wasnt meant to be helpful" is a very shallow way of thinking considering you dont know me... thats your opinion. (and you know what they say about opinions) maybe it didnt help you but I know of many others it did help. I am proud to be a crappie fisherman and I promote the sport through teaching others, that is what I love to do. But to know I get bashed for my post... Makes me rethink the crappie community.

SO ATTENTION: if you are offended cause I post about my catch at a local lake then be warned... dont read my posts. And If you would like information on local lakes pm me and I will gladly send info your way!
    Sincerly,

I would post a picture of all the fish I catch on Nightprowlers jigs but if I did that then he would have no time to fish.

I know a few guys on here that mislead people on purpose instead of not posting at all
they would rather lie anout it to lead people astray

I remember fishin eastfork for weeks without seeing another boat

not to mention the reports you will get if there is some money up for grabs

I used to share alot more but there are alot of people who dont want to put anything out and still reap all the catchin.

if you see me on the water and ask me no problem

when someone asks I TELL THE TRUTH

The internet can get carried away some are good guys lookin for a mess of fish
    others not so much.

would you deer hunters post about a section of woods

or where you were gettin morels

or theres a thousand ducks here
during season my logic says no

but you might tell a couple buddies

Its the same thing a resource than can be easily exploited by new tech
