I typed a message very similar to this last night and decided to not post it because I didnt want to ruffle feathers but I applaud you for posting this. I was one of the people that pm'd larry for showing me the ropes. This site is awesome because of the few folks that ARE willing to get on and not only give reports but are willing to help out the rookies on the site.
I understand the lakes have lots of pressure these days. I dont disagree with that one bit, but making others happy and helping one another out is by far and away more enjoyable than keeping everyone guessing and hoping that others don't "figure it out" and just hang up the poles, so to never fish "your fishing lakes". I just put 2 of my friends that hardly ever get to fish on the crappie trip that even a pro would find impressive. All that enjoyment would have never happened if I were one of the "never share info" kinda guys.
Were never all gonna see eye to eye this and prolly never will. I just like to see others find happiness in there fishing trips........................ We all had help from the internet at some point or another so..............................
Yep you guys have helped me a lot .........
And also convinced me I'm not the only FISHIN NUT out in this part of the country!
Stay safe all!
Yep, thats me way back behind you in the white, and blue Grumman semi V... with that little 9.9 on the back!

Well said Mr Yates, well said.
I was a guy who over the years has lost most of his fishing buddies. Some moved away, a couple have passed away and others just quit fishing. I used to fish solo 95% of the time.
Now, because of this site it's a rare week that I don't talk to or get messages from other people who share a common interest. I get invites to fish with people I never would have met if it weren't for this site. Heck, I filled an opening for our Ky Lake trip this year with a guy I met on this site.
I know I have learned a lot from this site. Some of the info was openly shared, other info was just reading between the lines. I'm certainly not going to be a threat to the welfare of the lakes because I catch a few more fish. I catch alot more fish but I keep alot less fish.
Anytime someone posts a thread that he caught a few fish or posts a pic or 2 it will be brought up the number of views vs the number of replies. I'm convinced those views are from the same guys who are here everyday and who only reply only to complain about others posting. How many of you guys go to a thread every time they see that something new has been posted. It only make sense the views will be 10x or 20x higher than the # of posts.
I'm pretty convinced most people aren't going to alter their fishing locations because of what they read on the internet. Time and fuel prices keep most people close to home. Most of us are going to fish the lakes that are closest to home no matter what the reports are. I for instance love to fish Paint Creek but due to the longer drive, extra expense and more time to make the trip I haven't been there in a few years. I'd love to fish Erie, Indian, Buckeye or even Delaware but time and cost pevent me from getting there.
Most of these lakes are pretty much the same. I think its a pretty nieve assumption to think no one is catching anything except the few guys "in the know".
What's the point of having a fishing site if no one talks fishing?
Crappiemax,
You just nailed it.
Amen,
mark
Max,
We'll said, I debated for a few years about getting on this site,
I'am glad I did & friends like Yates, Tbone, Harry's partner, Niteprowler & many others aided in my decision.
I've had more fun teaching a novice fisherman I met last year how to catch crappies, than fishing myself.
He is now a ( RABIED ) fishing nut, because he knows he can now go out & most likely catch something when before he got zero!!
Check these out,
when caught all measured over 16 inches, on this pic they are frozen & bowed up, but we had a great time at Indian Sat.
These are some of biggest fish I've ever caught. largest measured 16.75"
