Sorry to hear about your loss.
There's nothing like feeling that THUMP...FISH ON
Sorry for your pain and loss. I have felt that way myself over my best dog ever. I now have a very affectionate dachshund. I'm going rub her belly now. God bless you and your wife. And prayers for her Mom as well.

Sad to hear. Amazing how much love they have. You did the right thing.
Ed,
You have been through a lot lately and I am sorry that this had to come about on top of all the other stress. Seems like that dark cloud stays right over you sometimes. We have a little buddy that is 14 years old and we know that terrible day is not that far off now. I hate to even think about what a hole his passing is going to leave in our lives.
We are praying for you and your family every day.

Thanks Guys. I went and picked up my wife last night from the Hospital in Greenville. She had been with her Mom for 7 days straight and was finally able to get one of her sisters in for a couple days so She could come home for a breather. First thing she said when She came in was that it was awful quiet as Buddy always came to meet her at the door. Today She said it just did not seem like home without him around. That was a tough momment.CF

So sorry for your loss...my heart truly does ache for you. We had to go through the same thing with our Golden Retriever, Brinkley, on Christmas Eve no less. I still get choked up when I see a picture or pass the pond we'd walk... and invariably he'd swim...right after the ducks, until I called him back... May God's comfort help, and know you are in my thoughts and prayers this evening.
Sorry for your loss, its always tough as they are a part of family & great companions. You did the right thing gettin him out of pain & no you cannot just leave the vets office, you must stay with them as they would with you. I have always made my dogs a hamburger for lunch on the day of- as I don't want them traveling to see the lord on a empty stomach.
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.....
