    From Bryce Mountain?

    Flys a Steerman?

If it's the Mark Nelson I know/knew, he used to put on a balloon rally in the Shenandoah Vally in October.... New Market airport... great place to fly.

    I'm pretty sure he does.

It's been years since I saw him... last time he was looking for hanger space down this way for the Steerman.

We spent 6 years in Albuquerque while in the Air Force in the 80s. I crewed for a balloonist from Pueblo, Colorado a couple of years in the Fiesta. What a great time we had! Was thinking about getting my license until they moved me to northern California, then I didn't have time.

Were you ever a Zebra for Fiesta?

Last Time I made it out there was 2001

Still wear my Pilots Jacket from there in the winter.

    BTW

A Zebra is a launch director at AIBF (Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta)

Here's why they are called "Zebras"

Don't miss those freezing pilot briefings on the launch field at O'Dark-thirty. Do miss the Green Chili Stew for breakfast though once in a while.

Lol, never was a Zebra, they had to get up earlier and stay later. Not many people know about Green Chili Stew, it is awesome. McCormick make a white chicken chili mix, add pork instead of chicken, it come real close to the right taste! Potatoes too of course.
