Adjusted the Forecast from the canned Forecast to a site specific Forecast based on pressure trends, temp, dew-point, etc.

Set mean temp and rain averages by month to help with trends and forecasting.

Working on NOAA Monthly and Annual Reporting now.

    Cheers

Changed the graphic the I had made for the site; for a new one I put together from 6 different images. It looks good to me, but then I'm biased.

Sky-Cam came in this afternoon. Installed the lens (only 170 deg FOV) and tested it. I ran down to the hobby store (Lowe's) and bought stuff I needed to mount and weather proof it. Putting the mount together tonight and will install it and try and focus it from the roof via a wifi laptop tomorrow.

Will order a wider FOV lens next month and possibly another camera as well as software for my weather application.

    Cheers

Working on adding live feed Forecasts and Weather Alerts/Advisories from NWS into the forecast crawl. I can manually cut and paste the text in now, but am working out how to mine the data to a text file my software and pull in... am almost there.

Added the crawl from the gauges page to the home page, but need to get the auto download from my server going on it like on the gauges page.

    Cheers

11pm and getting quarter sized flakes out here. It's already starting to coat the ground and roadways.

That is a cool picture. What is specially cool is the individual flakes as they fall. On some you can see their shadow, kind of like when a SI pic shows the fish are off the bottom, and the display reveals a shadow under the fish.

That screen cap from this morning is after some melt off.... I had 2-3 inches piled on the car this morning.

Speaking of... rental car... snowed and iced over.... where is my scraper?... in the HHR in the body shop.

Ever try to melt snow/ice off the windshied with a Prius defroster?... I gave up after 20 minutes... went and got a broom. The "defroster"; and I use that term loosely; had heated the glass enough that by tapping the ice with the broom and cracking it into chunks, I was able to sweep most of it off.

The red car in the pic above is my rental.... 2012 Prius..... great mileage... no giddy-up and go though.

Heads up on the coming weekend.

Friday night dropping into the upper 20s with a chance of rain/snow Friday night and Saturday Morning.

Suffolk VA Solunar table for the coming week shows Good days "predicted" for Thursday and Friday, with Better days on Saturday and Sunday.

It will be interesting to see how predicted weather effects things vs the Solunar Table, with a full moon hitting on Saturday, and the passage of a cold front Wednesday/Thurday.

Time and tides will tell so to speak.

    Cheers

Snow Fluffies this morning started about 6:10 this morning in Downtown Norfolk. Spitty, spotty, hit and miss. So small that you don't see it driving. I did not know until I was walking from the parking garage into the building this morning.
