Got my old 12,000 BTU window unit from my son's garage. Got it cleaned and checked out. Still sitting in my truck in driveway. Removed rose bushes from front flowerbed so they'd be out of the way. Trying to clean the area inside in front of the window now. Been hard with Debbie in the living room all the time. All this extra stuff from our move is in the way a lot. She doesn't want to sell or give away anything. Yesterday was a workout for me with very little moved.
Got the window unit installed and living room is cold, temp set at 55 degrees as Debbie wants it.
I've got a heart doctor visit today. See if I can pick up oxygen parts for her machine while close to the hospital.
Nope, on the parts. They are part of the hospital group in Memphis so no going to the Desoto County hospital. Parts will ship through fed x.
Doctor visit not so good. Been taking care of Debbie and not myself. Heart function down from a year ago. Need to walk more if I can find the time. Next visit is 6 months.
First doctor visit after the congestive heart failure my heart was at 22%, below borderline for a pacemaker. I didn't want it and worked hard for 6 months getting it up to 48%. Lots of work and after 1 year it was up to 55%. The acid reflex as doctors called it, tumor, esophagus cancer, chemo infusions and having to care for my wife more this last visit showed my heart at 22% again. So the walking has started again. Since it's hot outdoors I walk stores pushing a shopping cart for an hour or more, may walk 2, sometimes 3 stores in a day.
Someone said, get a treadmill, save going to stores. They don't last very long outdoors, even under a carport. I've had 3 free ones in the past 7 years.
West clinic visit went well, doctor is pleased with the lab work. Started round 3 of the chemo pills. CT will be on 7/25 visit to see what progress is doing. Walked 3 stores on the way home. All items I wanted were out of stock.
Carried Debbie to ER Saturday morning, UTI, dizzy. They found low blood pressure, low red blood count. She got a transfusion and a few drugs. Doing better for now. I cooked fried okra with cubed potatoes, butter beans, fried tomato and cornbread for dinner last night. We both ate a plate full. I didn't get out of bed all night long.
Wish I could go fishing, but not in this heat.
West clinic tomorrow for CT to see what cancer is doing since being on the chemo pills.
Great check up, up to 144 lbs, CT showed no sign of cancer. Continue chemo pills.
That's great news...
Still taking the chemo pills for 2 weeks, a week rest then a doctor's visit. All is looking good.
This heat has me spending lots of time indoors. The tomato plants I planted aren't producing the right fruit. Black Krim and Mortgage Lifters aren't bright red and small.
Oldest son had treatment on his back that left an infection. In the hospital now for up to 14 days getting IV infusion drugs right. Will have to travel from Walls, MS to Baptist East hospital in Memphis, TN for up to 80 days daily.
Prayers for your son and you, my wife went thru a very serious sepsis infection a few years ago. It was scary for the both of us, almost lost her that time
Tentative last date for my son's infusions is 9/26. He travels to the hospital for the morning infusion and wears a pump home for the evening one. Will see how he feels on 10/1 to return to work. He now has a handicap card for his ride good until 8/26.
Still praying for you and your son.
Good check up yesterday, up to 144.9 lbs.
Jason got the name of the doctor that started the infusions. The office is open but doctor is out. He badgered the girl long enough to find out she's in Europe for a month.
Had a scheduled MRI and doctor's visit for yesterday to check on tumor. Had to get a new visit scheduled. Checked for when I could get both on the same day. Not until after Thanksgiving. So I went for the MRI yesterday and tomorrow for the visit. Long drive for me from Horn Lake, MS to Baptist east hospital area and the bad drivers on I-240. My oldest son drove. We shopped in the area before returning home. May hit other stores tomorrow.
Chemo doctor visit in 2 weeks. 1 more week of taking the chemo pills. 3 pills in the morning and 4 at night along with the 11 heart pills.
Keeping myself busy reloading 410 while sitting in bed. Got 600 rounds ready to fire.
Tumor doctor visit went well, I'm up to 145.8 pounds. Feeling great and eating most all I wish.
Last night I ordered a hamburger with mustard and tomato only. Got home to find cheese on both sides of the patty, trashed.
Going to be 93 later, see if I can go to son's place to shoot the 410.
Good updates sir! It seems drive thru and take out order accuracy are a thing of the past.
West clinic visit went well, up to 148 lbs, on chemo pills for another 2 weeks.
Debbie was out of breath when she would return to her recliner from the bathroom. Seems the oxygen machine stopped working correctly. Got the oxygen tank to her and that helped a lot. Not enough in the tank to last long so she spent a week in the hospital getting things back to normal. Came home with a new machine, a portable and a new tank. She's doing better but slow for her health and age.
Oldest son went in for back surgery, S1 L5 repairs Friday. Doing better but sore. May come home today. Looking for one of those hospital table/tray/cart that you eat from.
A nurse will come to the room saying drugs will be coming soon. He picks what ones he wants to take. If he feels like he needs a strong one or not. He doesn't want to get fixed on some of them again, all doctor related.
Debbie has me pretty much run ragged helping her. Yesterday when I returned home my granddaughter said, I'm glad you're back home, I'm going to bed. She has a bad back too.
Prayers for his complete recovery.
Prayers for the families healing...
Planned to be released yesterday. They removed the pic line and he wasn't happy with that. May come home today.
Looking at ways to make his home handicap friendly.
Jason's son installed grab bars by the toilet and shower that he likes. He's using a rollator walker to get to the lake to view the ducks and whatever else is happening. He's still on some heavy drugs to ease the pain. He came to our house yesterday while his wife went shopping using 1 cane. He's ready to go fishing, in about 2 weeks. I checked the calendar, busy week. Debbie has a Stern's visit, I have a gastro and West visit. I'll be watching the spillway release at Sardis on MVK for the best time to fish off the wall or handicap platform. Would be nice to be on a boat or pontoon.
I went to another gastro clinic yesterday. Like it better than the last. Having a fibro scan 1/8/2026.
Woke during the night with a pain in my back, kidney area. Most likely a stone moving around. Tried to sleep late.
I replaced the radiator on my truck Saturday by myself. Jason came over to help, just as I was putting the air dam back on. His first time driving in a long while. He's getting around a lot better.
Tuesday I was at the gastro clinic for the fibro scan. That's 2 ultrasounds of the belly. Follow up visit in March. Wonder when the double scopes will be. Cancer doctor wanted them 6 months ago.
